I'm happy Bungie finally took a stand on SOPA. SOPA is seriously evil and needs to be removed from existence.
They need to use that slingshot of theirs on SOPA.

Is the EFF site legit? I think it is, but I would like some reassurance if I need to put my info in there.
Yes it's legit. Obviously Bungie wouldn't link it if it wasn't.

Some things in this World you just can't explain; but that doesn't mean they are any less true, just that you have to chose to believe in them.

Achronos: And what's this about a "design team" I've been hearing? Apparently stosh is so awesome he's now considered a "team".

Good to see Bungie take this side.

Will they be switching from GoDaddy though?

I'm obviously not all that informed on the bill, seeing as I'm from the UK, but I've only ever heard bad things about it. Apparently I could be breaking the law by posting a video guide for Halo: CE Anniversary, according to someone who has read the bill.

That's just wrong.

I have seen you future

I, like many of my fellow community members, am glad to see Bungie stand up against a bill that would put restrictions on a resource such as the internet that should be free for all*.

*I do not support illegal activities on the internet, but SOPA is definitely not the way to stop them.

2/15/12: Francisco Porras, I'll miss you. Rest in Peace.

That post made me extremely happy, I'm glad to hear that Bungie is against SOPA like the rest of us.

Although it may not do much, I suggest Bungie does a black out (like reddit and a few other sites are) on Jan. 18th.

Glad to see you guys open and against this. A lot of companies and sites have been on the edge about it, not giving a full answer.

I'm so glad a lot of major game companies are releasing statements against this bill.

SOPA is more than a political issue.
That's exactly what I said when I was banned for discussing it, but whatever.

I'm still glad Bungie is against this! :D

As a company who is undoubtedly directly affected by piracy, and who works hard to make the very type of content that people would pirate, why are you against this? To me, that makes no sense.

Bungie played an instrumental part in paving the way to user-generated content in video games. SOPA threatens to destroy that.

We wouldn't have things like Arby and the Chief, RvB, etc.

Good job Bungie

Wouldn't the company who owns the property have to have a site shut down?

I won't see Microsoft shutting down a fan site/series like that.

Edit: Bungie uses Godaddy? Time to do everything you can Bungie and switch Domain providers. I know they said they changed their minds, but they said that just because all their customers were leaving.

Key

I will not be satisfied until every Bungie Employee writes a "letter to santa"-esque form to their local and state representative(s).

But my thirst for the rejection of the bill is, for today at least, quenched.

I find it awesome that Bungie, a software company, is against something that was created for companies like Bungie, for the greater good.
