I know this has been posted before but I want to add my 2 cents as a person who has played and beaten every halo and halo related game since the first release in 2001.

Halo Reach Fails List

Campaign:

1. Worst A.I. I've ever seen in a FPS. You have allies with unlimited health but they are afraid to go into combat. At time I have to melee or grenade them into combat.

2. Elites turn away from you and run into walls constantly.

3. Legendary mode is a joke and has been since halo 3. Instead of writing an intelligent A.I. they increase the damage of enemy weapons and give enemies ridiculous health. It takes 2 to 3 sniper rounds/Shotgun blasts to kill grunts and jackles unless you get all head shots WOW!!

4. Very Few Nav Points. 9/10 times you don't know where to go and what you're supposed to be doing. Just running around mindlessly kill covenant

5. Elites have the most insane amount of health sticky grenades don't kill them it takes 2 sometimes 3.

6. Hunters no longer have a weak spot. They can take multiple sniper rounds to their weak spot and still not go down.

Forge:

1. They still didn't listen to the community. WE WANT TO MAKE FIREFIGHT MAPS. Not custom game maps we can't find anyone to play on.

2. Can't delete scenery on premade maps. Guess bungie doesn't want us to see how lazy they were.

Multiplayer: (this will be a doozy)

1. Double beat down is still in the game

2. Shotgun a player with the sword before he hits you and he still pummeled you.

3. Armor Lock, Sprint, Jetpack, Hologram, Evade enough said.

4. Inactive Camo is the most useless thing ever. I'm guessing from halo reach to halo combat evolved that Camo technology jumped a few hundred years. The reason I say that is Inactive Camo in Halo Reach only works when standing still but a week later in the halo timeline it's perfected. WOW!

5. Still No Custom Game Finder (Still not listening to the community)

6. Bloom (Enough Said)

7. No Bloom. With no bloom the weapon spread is really high bullets weave around other players as if the gun is at full bloom.

8. Super Powered Assault Rifles. The AR beat a turret now. WOW!!

9. No OS on 90% of the maps. Why not just remove it completely.

10. MLG custom power up does nothing. (MLG's fault but wanted to throw that in)

11. Retarded Frag grenades. I guess the Spartans on reach are weaker then master chief since they can throw a grenade 15 feet but master chief in previous game can throw them across the planet. Even the Rookie on ODST can throw them further. LOL

12. No dual wielding. Anytime a game series loses a feature the development team is grabing at straws.

13. The Worst Ranking System I have ever since in any competitive game. Let's not give number ranks and make anyone who plays for long enough become a general now. I honestly think they made this ranking system for people who couldn't get past Staff Captain and Force Colonel.

Last But Certainly Not Least

The Engine: As much as they try to say "we rewrote the engine to add more stuff yada yada) it's simply not true. Halo reach obviously uses the Halo 3 engine. The reason I say this is the constant Frame rate drops in the campaign at times I notice it slows to around 15 - 20 FPS. Pure laziness.

I'm glad Microsoft was able to see the future and took Halo from bungie because Halo 4 would have been Halo: Reach 2.

I'm so happy 343 Industries has taken over. They showed their skills in Halo Combat Anniversary. They bumped it up to 60 fps while giving it the same if not better graphics then reach. This is another point to the fact that Reach uses Halo 3 engine. If they game run 2 engines at one time with one matching and in some point besting the reach graphics shows who the better Dev team is.

Each game has their pros and cons, but Im gonna have to vote Reach. Campaign was lackluster, firefight lost its charm, and it took over a year for multiplayer to end up the way it should have been from the beginning. Forge and Customs are the only thing that keeps me going. Otherwise I'd sit in H3 and ODST instead

Hi.

I love every single Halo game equally, excluding Reach.

I can't vote.

I'm not really an Apple person (Bananas forever) but damn, that's kinda sad.

All of them were good for different reasons, and appeal to different people (for some reason).

Meh.

In hindsight, Halo 2 is pretty bad

  • 01.13.2012 3:20 PM PDT

you think reach multiplayer is better then that of anyother game??????!!!!! WTF?! maybe you got your symbols wrong

< (less then)

> (greater then)

also anyone who votes for one of the games besides reach i'd like to know why you dislike it. I dont opinion bash people just would like to know. most people i've heard complain about Halo 3 cant use the sniper, BR , or carbine. and are staff captains and force colonels

In all technicallity, Reach actually runs on the Halo 1 engine. This is because Bungie used the same engine for every Halo game. It was simply updated for each game to be able to render more.

Also, 343 didn't have to do that much coding for CEA. The game was already made for them, they just had to add an extra layer of graphics and add in a few features. And I'm fairly sure that they didn't up the FPS to 60...

Halo 3 for me had the worst online multiplayer, but I have to go with Reach for being the worst Halo game overall.

OP, I don't know about you but the enemy AI is much smarter than they ever were.

In the previous games they would stand and watch while you picked them off, this time they actually hide until you come closer, best seen in Nightfall.

As for friendly AI, in Halo 2 they drove better.

Halo 2 > Halo 3 > Halo 3 ODST > Halo Reach > Halo CE

Based on campaigns.

Halo CE

1. Crap level designs

2. Crap physics

3. OP weapons

4. Crap storytelling and crap character development

5. Crap battles and enemies

6. The only level thats even slightly replayable is AotCR

7. Its sh1t the whole way through

Come at me

That is incorrect. I believe Halo 2 was the first Halo game with the Havok engine, which we currently use. Anyway, engines only determine protocol. Bungie stated that they started from scratch, and created the Reach engine, and that sounds reasonable considering the difference between 3 and Reach.

Same with Halo 2-3 difference.

Loser n00b you obiviously have never owned a gaming PC because us PC gamers who play consoles too can easily spot the FPS of a game and the framerate is greatly inscread in Halo: CEA. also they have not been using the same engine since halo 1. halo 1 and the original Xbox ran on Dirext X8 and the 360 is a Direct X9c console so are the game on it. if you remember what they said when they showed the trailer for Halo 3 they said they wrote a whole new engine

where do you people get your info. Havok wasn't even out in 2003 so halo 2 didn't have havok just look at the game cover. also the games engine does not determine protocol Direct X does. did you read that from some unknown source or just pull that out your ass lmao

well i guess you never owned the original xbox or halo 1 before the 360 because that game set the standard that all shooting games copy now.

1. large maps : before halo FPS games went from room to room

2. dual joystick movement

3. triggers for grenades and firing your weapon.

4. best AI of the series

Number 4 is rubbish.

Also, Halo 2 runs on the Havok engine, try researching it yourself before making a silly comment.

The core functionality typically provided by a game engine includes a rendering engine ("renderer") for 2D or 3D graphics, a physics engine or collision detection (and collision response), sound, scripting, animation, artificial intelligence, networking, streaming, memory management, threading, localization support, and a scene graph. The process of game development is often economized, in large part, by reusing/adapting the same game engine to create different games.[1]

heres the link so you can read up on what a game engine does

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Game_engine

also his a link to what a protocol actually is
