Everyone is talking about those flashes in the Master Chief's visor being other Spartans trying to communicate. I think you guys are trying to grab at stuff that isn't there. Personally, when I read these theories, I believed they were true. However, after watching the teaser again, I firmly believe that those flashes are reflections of light. Did you guys notice the huge thunderstorm above the structure? I think lightning in the storm is the cause of the flashes. The Master Chief's visor isn't creating the flashes - they are merely reflections of the lightning. What do you think?

If it was truly a reflection then it wouldnt have only been in that one spot

I have my doubts about the second reflection, but after the first 3, the cheif nods, as to aknowledge something. No way am I dismissing that theroy at this point.

I've watched it again, and if you look at the storm, you will see there are flashes every now and then in the eye of the storm - a single spot.

Eh? All I see are flashes in the eye of the storm. I agree there may be flashes in other places, but they may not be in the chief's line of view, so they won't be reflected

Hail to the Victors! Reppin' that MAIZE n BLUE!!!

That doesn't look like a nod to me. If you observe closely you will see he stops walking EXACTLY at the time when he stops walking. He doesn't stop smoothly, meaning movements like that may be possible.

I said there were many flashes, but they may not be in the chief's line of view. This means they won't ALL be reflected.

You don't understand! There is a certain area which the flash must be in, for it's rays to reach the visor. Although there are many flashes, they will not all be in this area. You're effectively saying a flash behind him could get reflected in his visor.

if you look closely at the origin of the flashes...its obvious. Look in MCs visor, you can clearly see the dark hole in the sky in the reflection of his visor, and there are several areas it flashes. On the top left of his visor, and directly in the hole, when it shows the sky, you can see the flashes in the whole, and since in the reflection it was on the top left, look to the top right of the storm, (mirrors reverse images) and you can see more flashes in that area, so the flashes in his visor and in the sky are consistent, they are indeed reflections of the lightning. And another thing, you wouldn't be able to see the acknowledgement lights through the outside of the visor, do you see a shield indicator and motion tracker, or an ammo counter for his AR, no, so why is it that you would see the lights?

This is exactly what I was saying! I didn't see the other flashes, but I guess you are right. Thanks for backing me up.

if they are, why would they be on the outside of his helmet???

that would alert other people, including enemies to the presence of another spartan. they'd be on the inside of his visor, along with all the rest of his HUD. can you see his pipper or ammo counters on that trailer? NO because they're on the inside of his helmet.

although, if so some odd reason, the lights were placed on the outside, out of MC's FOV, then it would seem to me that the flashes are in fact COM flashes.

it simply can't be lightning, because the flashes appear Waaaay to the right of his visor (our left) and the storm is dead center. although the storm is large, it doesn't stretch to the absolute right of John. meaning no lightning over there.

and the 'nod' i dunno about that. I think it's just part fo the movement of him holding up his rifle. not a nod.

I think it's difficult to judge how the storm is positioned in relation to the chief, as we are looking at it from a dodgy angle. Also, the flashes cover about a quarter of his visor. It doesn't look like they are to his extreme right.

it is deffinately a reflection if you look closely you can see a oval in the centre of his visor that is a reflection af the eye of the storm and the flashes are lightning plus you wouldnt be able to see them anyway

I agree that they are reflections of lightning...

But someone was saying that the Chief wasn't looking in that direction at that point...
