If humans could build the Armor Lock little generator thing, why didn't they give it to their naval ships so that they could armor lock in space to block Covenant plasma salvos?

Don't compare a small device on the back of an armor to a device inside a 200+ meters long ship.

Besides, human ships don't have shields.

The person who said participating is important, not winning, obviously never won anything.

I'd imagine the amount of energy needed to produce an armor lock on that scale would be too much for what a capital ship could produce.

Plus the sheer force of dead stopping the whole ship from whatever velocity it was traveling would tear the ship apart when it exited armor lock. It's momentum would be too high to just suddenly stop it.

That's the only thing I can think of, right now.

The only reason armor lock locks you in place is because the shields get amplified so much that it becomes too hard to move. In space, energy shielding would have no effect on movement. Though Armor lock would essentially just be a ship with an "emergency" shielding system that snaps a high-powered energy shield in place that the ship can only support for a very short time.

Given plenty of funds and research time it could be done, but it wouldn't be very cost effective.

I love sangheili!!!

armor lock isn't "real" anyways, and in no means canon. Bungie just invented it for reach to replace halo 3s equipment.

Waypoint Moderators aren't really Moderators, just power hungry and its goal is defend their beloved Halo at all costs. (Meaning that they wank Halo too much.)

BS Angel is alleged foe so, be wary of Waypoint and its moderators! Do not attempt to move to Waypoint. Enter your own risk.

*WARNING* IT IS MY OPINION.

It is real conceptually. I'm sure there are similar systems on MJOLNIR armor that could overcharge the shields for a brief burst but not in the capacity that's seen in Reach's engine.

No.

Gameplay mechanics are not canon, period. Besides, that is speculation, not fact. Therefore, it is burden of proof befalls on you to provide a source to prove your claim. As I know so far, there is no such thing mentioned about system of MJOLNIR shields behaving like Armor Lock.

I always thought most game mechanics (The bubble shield for example) were not cannon. I just wanted to know what you guys thought.

Hmmm. I recall it having something to do with gravity... Cant remember where I read that though...
