Subject: I think I know where The Librarian is. (Primorium)

By the power of truth, I, while living, have conquered the universe.

if the librarian was dead for x-thousand years, how could she have imposed her geas on the human Halsey, millenia later?

A powerful gei can be passed down generations, it seems that all of humanity have some kind of gei because in the first CEA Terminal 343 GS states that he needs to verify it's "presence and pitch" in the Autumn's crew.

Anyone noticed that most of the humans had their gea imposed upon them via some automatic system, not through her all the time. The real question is how is it placed into others.

I re-read that part earlier today. There is a command tower, beacons that implant the Gea into the humans. The Gea commands can be changed and altered at will. you can also have conflicting orders from other beacons, hence that girl getting confused in primordium.

and in primordium it is stated that the librarian imposed geas on chakas and riser while she was still alive.

How was Forthencho put into a human body despite being dead for 10,000 years?/ rhetorical

The Gea she put on chakas and riser were humans, not her.

As for the lifesharper she could have just cloned her brain and used that as a Gea. Wow,sounds like halsey!

Maybe she's on Sanghelios and that's why there is the attack there at the end of [Gl]asslands (Chakas having located her)?

I would be up for that, thought i really think it is the brutes since that would set up the events for "The Return".

This is really interesting...If her corporeal form was destroyed by the Halo Array, could she have put her mind/soul put into a human, I assume by the Composer, which happened to be a ancestor of Halsey to be awoken at the appropriate time?

Winner winner chicken dinner.

If the Librarian is alive, as Chakas claims in the end of Primordium, how could she also be a Geae for Halsey at the same time?

He didn't say she was alive. He said her death was demonstrably untrue after coming contact with more humans. And then states without her humanity would have been wiped out many times over.

That screams Gea, especially since we know she died on Earth. The subtext with primodium is that you are your thoughts. Your body isn't you or a representation of you, just a vessel.

First off: GREY, you're acting like a child. No one reads your mind, nor does the fact of disagreeing with you lay grounds for being a dick.

Further more, Halsey containing the Librarian as some sort of Gaea would be a giant cop-out. I'd be horrendously disappointed and feel set apart from the Halo universe if that developed to be true.

I love being wrong. But coming into a thread saying somebody is "wrong" yet having no evidence to back that up is stupid.
You do understand that entire part was brought up in primordium right? Hence why Forthencho was so upset.

So we "know" the Librarian is dead, yet it is claimed her death is "demonstrably" untrue. Explain how that doesn't contradict itself. I understand the whole "You are your thoughts" point you were trying to make. She died, but lived on through her thoughts. Is that what you are trying to explain? I see several holes. First of all, you are accepting it under assumption that her death being untrue means she lives on as her thoughts. You are also making the assumption that her "dying on Earth" would reference only her body dying. But, if someone's being is only their thoughts, then wouldn't the only meaningful death be the ceasing of existence of ones thoughts? If that were the case, then how can her "death," which you claim we know as fact, be only referring to her body, this vessel that you claim is meaningless?

Furthermore, what "entire part" are you trying to reference in regards to Forthencho.

You are breaking it down to an unneeded level which is causing you issues.

She died on earth, yet before hand stored an implant of herself somewhere else that would work long after she died. Short and simple.

That certainly seems to be more likely, but frankly something so obvious and simple is hardly cliffhanger material for a 450+ page book. The surprise factor of the next book would be nil.

"o noes, the brutes r attack us... y we liek them more than humans again?"

Look, I follow what you are saying. I really do. I just think there are too many assumptions to be a foundation for this thought bridge. I am not proven beyond a reasonable doubt, to explain it. Halsey hosts the Librarian because "they are both good people and care about life." That's flimsy at best.

The only evidence I see supporting the Halsey/Librarian connection is Halsey's change of heart in FS. She went from, and this was explained heavily, trying to save everyone to saving who ever she can. That was explicitly stated, around the time she kidnapped Kelly. That behavior mimics, to a degree, the Lifeworker's. To me, that would represent a point where, IF Halsey had a Gaes of the Librarian, it began to kick in, much like Forthencho didn't fully coalesce until Primordium.

In fact, I find myself hoping that it's something like the Didact (his story being in media res) being pissed off and blasting his way through to get to the Librarian. Brutes? No. Just no.

Haha! I'm not sure what to make of that, the description of a Florian says that they possessed more primitive characteristics than modern humans, lacking a chin, a smaller cranial capacity and proportionally smaller brain. And the fact that they can "hear" their ancestors in their head worries me that they may be suffering from schizophrenia.

...

I'm not that bad, surely? :P

You have a point with the gea kicking in.

smart, interesting, seems out of place.

Official fan of Assassin's Creed, Call of Duty, (Problem with that?) Halo, and Bungie, also a total gaming junkie.

I wouldn't be surprised if Halsey is connected to the Librarian.

Please don't hype for games...
They'll just fall short of your expectations and you'll complain for months.

In the halo 3 terminals, isn't the librarian on earth (describing it) right before the rings fire?
