Subject: Reclaiming What Was Lost

Humans were called Reclaimers by Forerunner artifacts. So naturally we assumed that we were the Reclaimers of the Forerunners lost civilization. We know that the next trilogy is in fact The Reclaimer Trilogy. But as we have learned more info a question began to form itself in my head. Whose civilization are we reclaiming?

One of the main things we have learned about is the Mantle. It was created by the Precursors, who we now know to be a highly advanced stage of the flood, and the Forerunners tried to uphold it after destroying their former masters. Unfortunately the Forerunners were Hypocritical in their actions, they were never meant to uphold the Mantle. Humans were. We know that this was the Precursors goal. That we would take the Mantle after them.

So putting all of this together i had to ask myself, Whose civilization will we be reclaiming? The Forerunners? Or the Precursors?

But in thinking of this, I also had to ask myself whose would we rather reclaim?
Our first choice is a civilization that strove for galactic peace through the unwilling subservience of all sentient races and indoctrination of them into one singe entity.

And our Second choice is a race that while gave others free will to live as they pleased was also hypocritical and generally full of derision for other lifeforms that they considered to all be inferior.

Which is it we are reclaiming? And the better question, which would we rather reclaim?

What are your thoughts on the matter?

We should know better, because we are better.

Why don't we take the third option and reclaim the ancient human empire? Let the forerunners and precursors keep their machinations, we should regain what was taken from us.

Hey im just wondering. Im going to put a thread up that relates to Halo reach armor. Can someone tell e which forum category that goes in.....Is it bungie universe or what?
it depends what kind of topic it is.

If it relates to the story, then it goes here, if it relates to unlocking it, it goes in the Reach or Waypoint Forums.

I believe we're reclaiming our own heritage. I think in Halo 4 or at the very least at some point during the new trilogy, we'll see a society derived from ancient humans who escaped the Forerunners' retarding. If not that, then at least a world that was once ours where John and Cortana will discover the truth of our lost empire.

You see, right now we know far more about the state of affairs in the Halo universe than the main protagonists of the franchise, and seeing as how John and Cortana are supposed to be conduits for exposition in the Reclaimer trilogy, I can't see that happening for long.

My only grip with this is that it may lead to the first case in halo history in which
you have to kill a human.

As an objective, of course.

You did it in that side mission in ODST, but that was just one cop.
