"NO! you have to pace your shots! it takes skill!" thats what he says... and I just shake my head

....I do pace my shots and win a lot in DMR fights. The only times I really lose is when I get up close, because that's when luck kicks in.

Take some thought into it, it's not that complex.

It adds luck and randomness. Skill? LMFAO!

Realism? Please... This is 400+ years in the future...

Your friend is a moron.

Simple.

Play a 1v1 against him and do nothing but spam. Beat him and ask him how that was "skill".

Also, ask why a super soldier 500 years in the future with insanely advanced armour has to deal with recoil?

>500 year in the future
>"Hey guys, we finally got that one gun working right!"
>"Awesome!"
>"But with those fixes, we had to change a few things with the armor, don't let it recharge more then once, other wise 2 shots and a punch will kill you ..."
>"Um?"
>"And definitely don't get punched in the chest, that will make it worse ..."
>"The hell!"

The op doesn't have a friend. He just made that up. It's actually the op himself who believes bloom is good.

Boltshot = mini shotgun

Tell him that randomness requires absolutely no skill.
Randomness takes away the competitive part of Halo.

If the bloom reticule is wide open, and the enemy is within it.
You are pretty much gauranteed a hit...correct?

But is that hit gauranteed to be a headshot?

Does a body shot do as much damage as a headshot?

Does pacing help to make sure your shots are headshots?

OK THEN!

The problem is with you people not understanding when you should and shouldn't be spamming.
Technically, if you suck at getting headshots. YOU SHOULD NOT BE PACING.
If you are a headshot MASTER, I seriously doubt you're losing to spammers often enough to warrant complaining about it.

The only way your complaints about bloom would have any merit, is if bullets were hitting your opponent when they are OUTSIDE the bloom reticule...which I don't think is the case.

You're getting mad because the spammer put 10 shots into your body and killed you, before you could pace 4 shots into their head....seems reasonable to me.

Unless of course you think quantity shouldn't be able to keep up with quality.
I think it's a nice trade off to make quantity = quality.
Because in most cases, Quantity > Quality.
Believe it.
Hell, US proved that theory in WWII.
Tiger tanks vs Sherman Tanks. etc.

On avg. How many shots does it take the spammer to outgun you when you are pacing?

You may as well be complaining about bolt actions vs MG's.
How many times you going to die to an MG before you start complaining about that matchup?
Quantity > Quality.
Deal with it.

what did I just read? wow. man. you are the same as my buddy. you just don't get it. its randomness. I spam I will get lucky and get the kill. I pace its slowing me down and I have low chance of getting the kill. why should I wait and let my reticule reset to go for the final headshot? its just boring, slows down the game, and adds garbage.

I have paced many times and its always luck. sometimes it works at other times I die in 5 shots cuz bloom went in their favor (the other player got lucky)

Usually when Mr Eos enters a thread/topic he attempts to drag the rest of us into the Twilight Zone with him.

lulz ... Quantity = Quality. wtf

DMR bloom gives retards a fighting chance against people with thumbs. Thats about it. And that's cheap IMO. If you're good on the stick with the DMR, you should be good in the game. Some kid that can't aim for beans with a precision weapon but can pull his trigger 50 million times a minute should't be able to kill you with it. It's a -blam!- precision weapon, for -blam!-'s sake.

400+ years and we have guns in RL that out perform what they have in halo. halo weapons have laughaly small clips and slow rates of fire, not to mention the grenade launcher that is pathetic in comparison to it's real world counterpart. realism went out the window a long time ago.
