Yes, there're too many numbers in my name.
Well, let me start off by saying that's it's extremely unlikely Destiny will be terrible. And this assumption is based on the fact that every game Bungie has ever made has been a success. But of course this is still my mere opinion, so I wouldn't know how to answer for the whole population of players who would play Destiny.
But let's hypothetically say that Destiny is terrible. The harm is loosing a large chunk of your fan base, your profit, and credibility among the game developer community.
The benefits? A heightened enlightenment on what people want today. A mistake is only another demographic of people pointing to where you should be going. And if Bungie fails this project, they would at least know to not continue with it.
Of course, it's still very unlikely this will be a failure.
And the other question you proposed. Will I stay? Well of course I'll stay! This is still the company that produced the most cherished games of the 21st century, isn't it? That'd be like seeing Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, believing it to be bad, and therefore deciding to never see another Spielberg film again.
Besides, the lore is like none other. I mean, what other company has a severed dog head in a jar? Or a systematic algorithmic procedure for peacefully extinguishing trouble-makers in the community portal, by the use of Ninja's? I'll tell you who, nobody. That's why I would stay.
Oh and by the way, I am expecting a lot of these.
