Forget it man, and get with the countdown. Shake this square world and blast off for Kicksville.

Reach host ranking algorithm: (a*quit_percentage + b*isMexican + c*(1/KDR) + d*hasGuest) * 100
where a > b = d > c

He must be lying. Based on his posts here, that's way too high.

Call me Stu

On uncaged and other maps I can go pass the kill barrier (causing a new flow on control) does that break the maps now?

  • 01.15.2012 1:48 AM PDT

You have entered the profile of blulit3flam3, this is where a lot of stuff happens.

From absolutely nothing to something.

Noobs use jet-pack, everyone that i have vs has lost using just jet-packs/Armour lockers. Scrubs.

Can anyone explain to me why jet-packs wouldn't be better as pick-ups?

Can we at least agree on that?

Agreed. At least then I could fix my -blam- map...

Jetpacks are perfect as pick-ups.

  • 01.15.2012 2:13 AM PDT

And what are the pros of having jet-packs as load-outs?

I can't think of any. That's what boggles my mind.

Dominating with a barely positive KD? If jetpackers know what they are doing, they got the power to break map-control. The people you encountered were most likely bad or something like that.

Crybaby...

The only reason people like you hate jetpacks is because it makes you have to stay on your toes, instead of feeling all safe an comfortable in your little camping spot.
You know what that is called? BALANCE. What you call map control is actually IMBALANCE. Because your job becomes extremely easy once you attain it. If jetpack makes the job of map control harder...GOOD! That's the way it's supposed to be.

Stfu please.

Look at Shadowrun for instance. I bet you would complain that 'teleport' ruins map control...right? Yeah... SHUTUP!

Sick of games where all people want is to put just enough effort to put the game into cruise control....
and go figure that the effort required to attain it is barely more than what is required once you are in it.

This is NOT directed at the guy directly above me..btw. HE actually has a legitimate complaint against it.
But I think your wrong in thinking it forces them to have to also choose jetpacks. but I could be wrong.

Almost as bad as complaing about Armor Lock, really.
Armor lock makes it harder to spawn kill....take it out...wah!

Holy Christ that is the dumbest I have hear all day. Having map control is not imbalance. Map control is caused of one team having more skill than the other and therefore gaining map control. What you are saying is that one team is more skilled than the other is imbalance? You are clearly to inexperienced to comprehend it.

dont like my driving? stay off the sidewalk

the jetpack, like many of the additions in reach had lots of potential and yet the COMMUNITY found a way to f#ck everything up. game developers take a message from me: if it can be exploited then some try-hard is gonna make a youtube video on it and every casual will exploit it too.

I think the main problem with jetpack is that it gives anyone the high ground whenever they want it. That used to be the kind of thing you had OUTPLAY your opponent to get. I think ordinary matchmaking should do what MLG is doing now and have armour abilities purely as power-ups so there's a limit to how many people can use each ability at a given time.

Oh and they should change grenades so that they're no longer -blam!- atom bombs.

You would LOL at such a dumb post...

And for the guy saying map control is not imbalance.

Let me give you an example of what this community considers as map control

SPAWN CAMPING!

Done. Chew on it, get a clue and -blam!- off.

I don't mean to brag I don't mean to boast but I got hummus for these MINI TOASTS!

Jetpacks make easier kills.

I actually agree with the OP somewhat.

Jetpack doesn't break map control.

No

What Jetpack does is ascend to a higher plane of existence that map control cannot even see. From that plane the Jetpack then disintegrates the very concept of map control until the player is left wondering why they ever bothered with such a silly idea in the first. They see that map control is worthless before the Jetpack and then the players bend to its will. They use it cautiously at first, but soon they will put their entire trust into the Jetpack and the Jetpack rewards them with kills.

That is what Jetpack does.

Wait a minute, you people are actually stupider than I thought.

Ok. lets make jetpack a pick up, so only a very few select people are able to have it in a match....

Wasn't someone just -blam!-ing about how jetpacks allow people to get to some unnaccesible places....

Now if that person is the only one allowed to have a jetpack on the map, and they use it to reach those "bad" spots.

YOU JUST CREATED A BIGGER PROBLEM!

Would you people at least spend a ....few minutes.... thinking -blam!- through.

Trust me when I say jetpack is better as a loadout. not a pickup.

The Song Of Nephilim

Xenoblade <3

As much as people complain about it, I will have to agree that it DOES break map control. Jetpack should have never been available in the first place. Maybe in campaign, but not multi player.

What. You can't be this stupid..

EDIT:Another thing I want to add.

Let me give you an example of what this community considers as map control

SPAWN CAMPING!
You mean spawn KILLING. Spawn camping is a flaw in the map where players sit on the enemies spawn(eg. Invasion, team of 6 sitting on the spawn area of the lone player on the other team and repeatedly killing them) Spawn killing is obviously not map control, it's the reward for map control.

Jet-pack was a great idea for multi-player.

Spawn killing is obviously imbalance because 90% of the time once it is attained the effort required to hold it is nil.

In fact, the effort required to break it, is 1000000x more difficult than it is for the team to hold it in most cases.

Don't -blam!- lie, you know it's the truth.
Spawn killing/camping (pointless technicality) is pretty much cruise control. If I'm spawn camping/killing, I'm probably yawning due to the absolute lack of challenge that is being posed by the opposing team.

Jetpack won't necessarily break a spawn camp. But it will make it harder and take longer for the initial setup of the spawn camp, if not avoid it altogether.

Why don't you people just forge yourself a map, put a spawn just for you right on top of the highest area you can find, give yourself some rockets, spawn everyone else in a barrel and leave what makes a real game to the smart people.

Because most of what I read from you people. leads exactly to that scenario.
But take that same scenario and give all those people in the barrel a jetpack and what happens? oh man, the game is suddenly balanced. You're no longer king of the world with your rocket up on your hill are you?

Spawn killing, Spawn camping & spawn trapping are 3 very different things.
