Wait a minute, you people are actually stupider than I thought.

Ok. lets make jetpack a pick up, so only a very few select people are able to have it in a match....

Wasn't someone just -blam!-ing about how jetpacks allow people to get to some unnaccesible places....

Now if that person is the only one allowed to have a jetpack on the map, and they use it to reach those "bad" spots.

YOU JUST CREATED A BIGGER PROBLEM!

Would you people at least spend a ....few minutes.... thinking -blam!- through.

Trust me when I say jetpack is better as a loadout. not a pickup.

You say that as though we all have exactly the same opinion about jetpack. Loads of people hate it for loads of different reasons, I'm not that bothered about certain unaccessable points because they have softkill.

Exactly. When people say it takes you to places you couldn't go before, that is false. There is always a way, and the only spaces you should not be able to go would be the places with kill barriers.

As for map control, jumping would in a sense also break map control.

Jet packs help users gain control of the map, so in that sense it does not break map control.

So basically... Waypoint is pro-vanilla?

Posted by: Sentox6
Waypoint isn't pro-anything so much as they're just anti-intelligence.

On maps like hang em high or reflection, it easily breaks map control. Instead of fighting for sniper control, I can just jet pack up to it. That speaks derp to me

How about some examples. Let's go with Solitary/Prisoner. This was brilliant in Halo CE. The multiple levels and catwalks made getting to the top or killing someone across the map difficult. Enter Halo: Reach and jetpacks. Someone shooting you from the top of the map? Don't take cover, jetpack! Someone at red but you are at blue? Instead of running over the catwalks, sides and jumps, giving them a chance to actually fight back, jetpack! Get a kill while completely destroying the feel, flow and control of the map.

But if the jetpack is a pickup, it is a new power weapon, of sorts. The problems could be fixed by placing 1, 2, or even no jetpacks on a map. Not every map has a rocket, for example.
And I could really fix my map by just not placing any.

Jet-packs are garbage.

- a hole. I can fly over. yay

- there are rockets over there. instead of running/we both have equal chance, I can fly and get there quicker.

the fact that player A has jetpack gives him an advantage over player B with sprint ruins gameplay. it ruins weapon control and completely takes out strafing/simple jumping or moevement skill. at a press of a button I can lolFly across a gap or up to a tower.

Choose jetpack? no. look at arena. you can call it jetpack slayer since evryone spams it.

jetpack = a new idea yet it just ruins the halo feel and breaks map control.

Looks like OP just got logi-smacked.

I'm out.

I don't get why people say this, that the jetpack breaks the map flow and control. I've dominated countless games with all the enmies used jetpacks.

Seriously, prove me wrong on this. Give em a real, legit reason why you think jetpacks ruined Halo.

1/10 since you got me to actually read your post.

I acknowledge my user name is stupid. However, I promise I'm not.

Disclaimer: The latter is a lie.

Jetpack does break map control. When a whole team uses Jetpack, it as a frickin' nightmare.

Boltshot = mini shotgun

Honestly, I haven't really had problems with jetpackers. I'm able to kill them with a DMR or ranged weapon anyway.
