Subject: halo legends refuses to be realistic

is it just me, or does pretty well every story in the halo legends movie completely ignore both halo canon and actual possibility?

ex: sangheilii women look more like something from the elder scrolls than actual sangheilii in many stories

in most of the stories, not only do the sangheilii speak english to each other (why not their own language with english subtitles?) , but they speak their english with a japanese accent!

it is shown in one story that Thel Vadam ( Vadamee at the time) looses his
" wife ", and yet at the end of halo three he mentions during a conversation with the half jawed shipmaster ( I forget his name) that they both have
" mates " (not wives)

there are lots more examples, but i dont want to list them right now

That isn't Thel Vadam, there have been many Arbiters.

Well, they f u c k ed it up by making it anime. Than they decided to add all these Japanese elements into the story (eg. the Elites culture in 'The Duel' and the strange never before seen Forerunner architecture in 'The Babysitter).

Halo Legends took canon fire to the knee.

To be honest, when I first saw all this in the weekly update I thought 2 things.
#1- there is an actual legendary ending but,
#2- No matter what anyone does,(kill all the bobs, hit all switches etc) that until the "time" mentioned in "There'll be another time..." is reached there won't be a legendary ending.

The weekly update by bungie has slowed my hardcore search for what unlocks the legendary ending.

The whole Elite honour thing has been since the beginning I'm pretty sure.

But's that all I'll say. I don't know it's anime or why the Elites talk in Japanese accents.

I own the DVD.

I take it as canon, with some artistic license thrown in for flavor. For example, MC's armor in The Package... Mk IV armor isn't supposed to look like Mk VI.

There's only one that I don't take seriously: The aptly named Odd One Out.

--Tea-baggers are funny, it's as if they think they are far more hetero than the people who do it in real life, because they use their e-ballsacks to do it. What a manly victory dance.
~ManBearPig_06~

It's interpretation, and although I'm pretty sure all of the directors are known Japanese directors, I'm not sure why that would carry through to the english actor accents. I thought it was good, and all but one are technically canon.

Speaking of said one, I really hope you are leaving out the 'realism' argument for the one directed by the DragonBall Z guy.

Also, this should probably be in Bungie Universe.

Also, you have to take the story and not the animation as cannon. Just like how you take the story from the games, not necessarily the gameplay.

I will never accept Legends as canon.

  • 01.15.2012 3:10 AM PDT

I liked the one where they explained a little bit about the Forerunners.

Call me Stu

Covenant and UNSC teaming up that was the part that spoke right out to me.

3 points;

1) good enough for bungie, why cant they break canon?
The book obviously had errors (according to bungie) so I guess they adapt elements of the story as required. Even YOUR rant about the 'japanese accent' ... how do you know what that it is NOT correct from reading a book?!?

2) You do know it is a cartoon and not a life documentary?
Ever watch Bugs Bunny - not real. 'Clone Wars' ?!?

3) It is meant to be 'entertainment' ... not you life.

In memory of those fallen in the defense of Earth and her colonies.

Its an Anime. Look at every other one, the Asian community (Not being racist) always over exaggerates things and always makes thing about Samurai or whatever. I hate legends because of the massive Asian art style its taken.

Plus half the stories are retarded. Hold on there. Space. Bikes. With the power to shoot through capitol ships shields? Feck off. That stuff ruins everything not to mention stupid Samurai like fighting scenes that were done it Asian films back in the 80's.

Too much of that influence for my liking. Tried not to be racist so i am sorry if I offended anyone.
