Bungie disregarded canon when making Reach. It's no surprise.

They didn't disregard it insomuch as they changed a couple details and preconceptions. You can ride the horse of "Bungie destroyed canon" all day long, but it doesn't make it a winning horse.

We can also easily say 343 has disregarded canon because they haven't decried Reach as "non-canon".

Spartan IIIs were not stupid suicide troopers. They were just sent on nearly impossible missions and almost never made it back. They are not all that different from the spartan IIs. They were trained the same way but they didnt have the specifc genetic traits that were in the spartan IIs. They were picked at random from orphanages and asked if they wanted revenge for he covenant killing their parents and those who said yes were accepted. Athough the spartan IIIs were a lot younger than thhe IIs. Some as young as 11 or 12 when they were KIA. You shouldnt hate on spartan IIIs. They deserve more respect than the IIs

Wrong, Kurt specifically states that there is genetic specifications in Ghosts of Onyx. They did not merely go and randomly grab kids from the streets.

However doesn't Glasslands contradict that?

Perhaps Kurt was lied to. I don't know, I haven't read GoO in ages and I don't feel like slogging through it again.

Makes no sense to have Paragonski want a 1,000 recruits range for Beta and only get 300 if they didn´t have genetic criteria at all.

................................ That's like saying Halsey was lied to about the genetic restrictions for the S2's.

As for Glasslands, Mendez states it, but it could be another clear case of no research done, or Mendez saying that to get at Halsey, which is again, no research done because he's not like that.

Why would Kurt, the guy who was deciding on the augmentations and training (as well as can be assumed selection) not know about genetic restrictions? Note in the meeting they talk about loosening them (Admirals including Parangosky) and he replies that getting anybody from outside the Genetic selection would increase chance of failure. Mendez was present in the room.

Hahahaha, oh my god. You will never say anything bad about Reach will you? You blindly are in love with Reach.

Oh, that reminds me. What happened in that other thread? Oh, that's right. Every time you lose an argument or get proven wrong, you just leave because you cannot admit you're wrong. Pathetic.

The entire mentality that any sort of Spartan should be a suicide trooper is completely and wholly retarded.

The original spartans were a testament to decades of training and discipline and yielded the most impressive results humanity's ever seen. Why they chose to trade dependable hardy soldiers for cannon fodder I will never understand.

If Spartan III's like noble team were cannon fodder I want to know what you classify marines as

I didn't see jack.

Then you must not of read First Strike.

The Spartan II's were completely overrun in every sense of the word.

3 Spartan II's (Fred/Kelly/Joshua) single handily destroyed a Covenant battleship along with a camp of 10,000 Covenant troops.

Another trio of Spartan II's fought their way through thousands of troops to reach Admiral Whitcomb, and then they had to defend that location for weeks.

As detailed in the Halo: Reach radio messages, 11 Spartan II's took on thousands of Covenant troops in a battle and WON.

And most importantly, a small group of Spartan II's survived in Castle base, despite the thousands of troops coming after them.

EVERYTHING detailed in First Strike trumps what the III's went through.

Though to be fair Spartan III's are pretty bad ass and they had less genetic req's (they were volunteers) who some pulled of amazing feats before they were 20

Exodus had parts that could easily have been done better.

There, said something I view bad with Reach.

You will never stop being aggressive and insulting in your hatred of Reach either, so why should I stop supporting something I don't view as a pile of -blam!- like you do?

You are pathetic for taking silence as victory, for constantly bringing it up and acting as if your opinion is fact and any who don't side with it are idiots.

LOL, wouldn't expect less from you Cobra. I support my opinion with facts, yet it's still pathetic. Interesting logic. I'd like to know how the works.

And, Cmdr, once I had two people back me up countering your bulls**t, you just cowered away. Wouldn't expect less, lawls.

Got nothing against your opinion, you just seem to be taking this very seriously, sadly levels that only instill equal amounts of disappointment and laughter in me.

I could get 50 people supporting me and you'd be just as aggressive, blindly hating, and arrogant.

Huh, funny that you spout facts but I don't remember them. I remember opinions, but not facts.

Have fun in your arrogant trolling world Seal.

As Cobra said, I don't mind your opinion about Reach, it's how you display it. It's like me punching somebody in the face because they prefer apples over oranges.

What the hell happened to you SEAL? You used to be a nice guy back in the day. Now every time I see a post of yours it must be negative or aggressive, it´s saddens me :/

Snake, I am a nice guy just not to the ass.holes who constantly attack me because of my opinion. I don't take s**t from anybody, so that's why it seems like I'm not "nice." It's not me, it's you guys. Every fawking time I have an opposing opinion, you guys have to get on my case about it. And that's that. Not my fault.

The destruction of Halo with Reach filled all of our hearts with grief...

if Reach had destroyed Halo nobody would buy the games anymore and as you can see, that´s not the case.

Apples FTW

Reach has its problems( a lot of them), but it is still a high-quality game. You can hate it, you can love it, but I'll just be chillen' in the middle, sippen' ma lemonade.

Screw you all, if you don't like pears then you can go to hell!

Pears > Apples and Oranges.

Just kidding, but I do agree with arsenal, Reach is just there in the middle, neither bad nor the best.

Indeed, but Spartan IIs were even more baddass. The novels, Cole Protocol, Ghosts of Onyx, & The Fall of Reach through First Strike show you how skilled Spartan IIs are. In Ghosts of Onyx, Kelly fought two Spartan IIIs & ripped their faces off, literally. Then she ate it.
