Yeah!!! Crappy graphics and uncomfortable controllers are really cool!!! Except sort of not...

Well, if you call stuff like Gears of War really crappy graphics, then you must have come from the future or something. Have you seen the screenshots of good Xbox 360 games? Call that terrible? There's hardly anything better. Besides, Halo launched on Xbox, Halo 2 hasn't even hit PC yet, what makes you think Microsoft will deviate from that pattern. Putting it on one platform can help make it better, plus it's just common sense that that's what they would do.

Turn up the sarcasm detector mate, he is having a lend of you. He is saying it would suck on xbox because of the graphics and controllers, not the 360.

No I don't think it would work that well on Xbox (Look at the load times and graphic glitches in Halo 2). But a PC...

People like you baffle me. Why, would someone want a worse version of a game? If, hypothetically, you get an Xbox 1 version, you'll have worse graphics, probably 2 discs for the entire game to fit on, less features, less multiplayer options, less players in multiplayer, the pop-in during cutscenes and gameplay would be back and even worse, and ungodly long load times because the Xbox 1 is approximately 84 times worse than the 360.

Why are you so against by the 360? Is it the price? The Xbox original was $300 and people bought it for Halo 1. Do you feel entitled to make Bungie downscale the title to a system that's more difficul to make games for and would give the fans less features. Because you know what'd happen if it came on the original Xbox as well as the 360, everyone that whined about it not coming to the original Xbox would be whining about not getting all the same features and graphics as the 360 people. It'd be like PSOne fans wanting GTA:San Andreas on the PS1.

Actually, both consoles use DVD9. Unless the devs can utilize some sort of compression feature that the Xbox 360 Dev Kit uses, both consoles would use two discs if this were the case, at least how I see it.

Whoever said the processor was 700mhz, it was actually 733 if I remember correctly.

Bungie is not going to go backwards. Did you watch the announcement trailer? Try running that on an Xbox in real time. You might get 0.0001 FPS. You could slim it down, but that's a waste of time in my opinion. It'd be like trying to run Half-Life 2 on an Intel Pentium MMX 233mhz CPU.

Oh yeah, it's 733. Anyway, I think by mid-late 2007 the Xbox 360 will have the HD-DVD drive anyway

The HD-DVD drive won't be used for games according to Microsoft. Only for movies.

no way. that will only be holding halo 3 back. its made for the xbox360. And by 2007, you should be able to save up enough money to buy urself an xbox360. its like saving up 25 bucks a month starting now for one year.

Something tells me that when Halo 3 is out, the Core system package might get a reduced price. You might be looking at 250$ instead of 300$. Then again, the core system is a complete ripoff.

The core system will probably be cheaper by then regardless, considering the PS3 launch date.

No, I want to play a game at its full potential. Now that the 360 is out it should be made excusivly for that.

It's still a complete ripoff. You need to spend 100$ more for a 20 GB hard drive. This is another ripoff considering the size. I have a 200GB Maxtor SATA HD for my computer that I got for 87$. The Xbox Live mic is something else you need. The rest is really up to you. So if you ask me, it's a ripoff.

i mean in a year ppl should have a 360 but the games buy then might be 70$ instead of 60$ and a vxbox would blow half of your face off if you try to play it on xbox

They can't get to expensive with games. They're trying to make money on the games to make up for manufacturing costs. Selling games for 70$ could jeopardize the decision of some consumers.

This is the problem with Sony and Blu-Ray.

If they made another Halo game for the xbox it'd be a Halo 2 expansion, not Halo 3.

No. There is no rational thought behind putting halo3 on the original xbox, and you should slap yourself for thinking so. Halo3 will be so advanced graphically that it could not possibly be ported to the original xbox.

1) Halo3 will make use of the 360's THREE 3.2ghz hyperthreading processors to render incredible visuals that the original xbox could never dream of touching. To design a halo3 that would run on the original xbox's single pentium3 processor would be idiotic. The programmers would essentially have to program a whole different game, and it would look like ass to boot.

2) It would not help the sales of the 360, like it should.

3) If the 360 is too expensive for you, then get a Wii, or get a job. Next generation is going to be costly, so just like everyone else is doing, find a way to deal with it. You've got a year and a half of money saving time ahead of you.

To echo eveyrone else here... No

It is'nt just a matter of the Xbox not haveing enough muscle, It also does'nt have enough features. The 360 is'nt just about more grunt ya know? It has abilties the Xbox Does'nt. Basically to give you an idea of what the game would look like on the Xbox...

Take the trailer, and reduce the render distance from 14 miles to about 1 mile. Replace the sky, mountains and wreakage in the background with a low resolution skybox. Remove all but one or two ships, remove the dynamic range lighting, remove the world relative light sourcing, remove most of the texture qulaity on both the Chief and the environment, remove the real time reflections in his visor, remove the the swirling clowds above the artifact, and remove most of the animations of the artifact itself. Then add a bunch of pop up and a limited field of play and thats what Halo 3 would look like on the Xbox.

Simply put Halo 2 looked it's best during the cutscenes. Halo 3 already blows that out of the water with 7 month to a year to go of development. There is more going on in that teaser then at any given point in Halo 2, and it did'nt show anything. My guess is Halo 3 will be so astronomically awesome on every level that our feeble minds will not be able to grasp it at first.

if we wanted -blam!- graphics again. The reason they did it was: great new system that makes game look real. And also the fact that it boost profit because people go out and buy xbox 360.

Sorry, no. The Xbox 360 has roughly 20 times the capability of an Xbox. More RAM for larger levels, smarter enemy AI, and whatnot, a faster dual-core CPU, a new GPU with the latest vertex and pixel shaders for next-gen effects... come on, if you want the best expiereince possible, you would obviously go with brand new hardware that can keep up with the times and deliver the best content possible. And Xbox is about to be 6 years old.

In other words, use common sense.

You mean Xbox is about to be 4 years old? Xbox came out in 2002.

Anyway, no it shouldn't come out on Xbox because it would be crappy and cut back on production time for 360 people. And we all know that 360 > Xbox
