Subject: To Everyone who wants Halo 3 on the Xbox 1:

This is a copy and paste from a reply I made with more reasons:

People like you baffle me. Why, would someone want a worse version of a game? If, hypothetically, you get an Xbox 1 version, you'll have worse graphics, probably 2 discs for the entire game to fit on, less features, less multiplayer options, less players in multiplayer, the pop-in during cutscenes and gameplay would be back and even worse, and ungodly long load times because the Xbox 1 processor frequency is approximately 91 times worse than the 360 (3 core 3.2 ghz processor vs. a 733 mhz processor). The video chipset alone is approximately five generations old (technically an Nivdia Geforce 3/Geforce 4 combo whereas the Nvidia equivalant of the 360 is the 7800 GTX). The RAM is 8x larger and approximately 3.5x faster on the 360.

Why are you so against by the 360? Is it the price? The Xbox original was $300 and people bought it for Halo 1. Do you feel entitled to make Bungie downscale the title to a system that's more difficul to make games for and would give the fans less features. Because you know what'd happen if it came on the original Xbox as well as the 360, everyone that whined about it not coming to the original Xbox would be whining about not getting all the same features and graphics as the 360 people. It'd be like PSOne fans wanting GTA:San Andreas on the PS1.

Honestly, I don't mind if this gets locked if the mods believe it's necessary. I just wanted to get this off my chest.

Frank O'Connor is a 12-year veteran of the videogame magazine industry and has therefore never worked an honest day in his life.

I agree. But i am sure bungie is all for xbox 360.

Everyone says a 360 too much or they didnt want to wait outside or they didnt have enough time to get one. Well, im 14 now but i was 13 and i didnt have a job so that means i actually did stuff for my money. I saved up for my 360, not just magically got the money. I did chores and helped out other people to get my money. Also i outsmarted a bunch of 30 and 40 year olds by PREORDERING instead of whining about it/sitting outside for hours and hours freezing my ass off. All i had to do to get my 360 was just walk in the store and ask for it. Thats it.

But hold on, why should it bother you if someone dosen't wan't to fork over 400$ when they have a perfectly fine system infront of them? Why do you care if they don't mind playing a downgraded version?

It invalidates all the loyal customers who were trusting enough to buy a 360.

It's like saying:
"We don't have enough faith in our new system, so we are going to put in a failsafe behind it.

I dont have enough money for a 360, so at first i was like please put it on the xbox. Now you've changed my mind. You are like a brain washing cult.

Did you honestly buy a new system for a game that hadn't been announced nor would it for a year to come? That baffles me.

Oh come now, Halo 3 isn't the ONLY next-gen game for the 360... Jeez

I got Xbox for Halo CE, I got XBL for Halo 2 and I got the Xbox 360 for Halo 3.

That is how I work and it works fine for me.

It just bothers me because I just know that they're whining now, and if they get a downgraded version, they'll whine when they get it. I can hear it now, "Why no good graphics?" "We want 50-man multiplayer!" Bungie is already hard at work on Halo 3 for the 360, it should not be necessary for them to have to take time to cater to people too stubborn to actually continue on to the next-gen. It never is nor will it likely ever be that a console comes out that its sequel is not necessary to buy for new games.

Developer support is dwindling even with third-parties such as EA, and it is non-existant with developers that are a part of Microsoft. The last Microsoft Games Studio (which includes Bungie, Lionhead, and Rare) for the Xbox 1 was Conker: Live and Reloaded back in June of 2005.

2 games actually, Halo 3 and Ninja Gaiden 2. And now that H3's announced, the $400.00 purchase has been completely justified.

If I may use another metapfhor:

Imagine you joined an expensive club that gets you all these great cheeses for a fair to moderate price, but only members were allowed to sample the cheesy goodness. Now Imagine that there was a new cheese that was currently being aged, to be available within the next year. Now imagine that the cheese makers made an announcement to the cheese club that the cheese would no longer be club exclusive, and that they were going to let everyone sample it, plus downgrading the cheese engine so that everyone could handle it. Wouldn't you feel alienated by your cheese company? I know I would.

For Carnage, Apply Within.

I have returned from the Untamed Lands. MOAP is dead.

GRAW was released on both Xbox and Xbox 360. Alot of people still bought both versions. Am I for or against this for Halo 3? More of the 360 I would say. But for those that think it can store more memory. Not true. If that were the case (shortage of space) I think Halo 3 would best go on the PS3. The blu ray discs carry way more info then the standard dvd discs. But of course Mircosoft owns Bungie so that won't happen. Then again these are all "fact" provided by Sony about their discs.

Man why can't people understand that doing that is the worst mistake Bungie and Microsoft can make to release its Flagship videogame on the predecesor of its newest game console I mean why do you guys think there are so few 360 games...its because Microsoft is waiting for the PS3 to be released I mean picture it: PS3 launches...but wait thats this games like Halo 3 pop out the same date since most ppl are tired of waiting for the PS3 and have bought 360 they'll buy games for the 360 instead of the PS3 then BOOM more and more money for Bungie and Microsoft its buisnes.

We all know (even the original xbox'ers) that halo 3 will never be relesed on the original system, so I ask you, why even bother telling us this? Why do you care? At the end of the day you'll have your stikin halo 3, you'll have your fun, but for people that can't afford it, they don't wan't to let go of that dream...
