Subject: Question The Arena

So I just wrapped up four matches in the arena. My overall score so far is 1406. What does this number mean, and what exactly is the arena? They mentioned divisions... what is all this? Thanks.

Rating means nothing, it's about whether you win or lose that effects your division placement.

Nothing. How well you did in the match, but wins are everything now.

Your rating means nothing in Arena anymore. Ratings are left over from the days when Arena was ranked based on individual performance. Your division ranking (iron at the low end, bronze, silver, gold, or onyx at the high end) is based on your win/loss record and who you beat. So, beating onyxs and golds will put you in a higher division than beating irons, with losses impacting you similarly.

The divisions are divided at 25% increments, with gold representing the top 25% of the population and onyx the top 5%, I believe.

You have to get rated 5 days to get put into a division, from there you can more up or down depending on your win/loss from there.

Not the last part, it's like that on HaloTracker's site for stats. Each of the 5 Divisions has a top 100% in each. So if you go from 3% Gold and do slightly better, you'll end up in the next better Division, Onyx, but you'll be somewhere around the 90% mark.

You won't be able to tell until you get ranked in a division for 5 days. Keep playing and winning and you'll be placed in a division.

I know that. I'm talking about the population as a whole, not each division in and of itself. So, out of every placed player in Arena, iron comprises the bottom 25% of the ENTIRE population of players.

Sorry. Thanks for clarifying.

Onyx is 1-5%, Gold is 6-25%, Silver is 26-50%, Bronze 51-75% and Iron 76-100%.

So theoretically if I was a pretty good player but I lost all my games due to playing with randoms who suck, I could be placed into Iron?

Yes but I'd rather have that instead of a bunch of retards crouching in corners trying to do good individually.
