I LOVE YOU!!!

Question: Obvious synopsis of forge sytem expressed most truthfully combined with plausible upgrade. Yes?

An interesting indie game I believe has been purchased by publisher to be professionally completed on a number of platforms.

Seems the project has gone dark while they're in crunch mode.

Introducing Warsoup: Claims to be Halo meets Starcraft

It's interesting to see the genre lines blur...

This is a Reach account that I created the day they announced his name in a bnet weekly update. Any stats regarding ODST or Halo 3 are irrelevant. Also, Halo CE master race. Halo 1 > other halo games > other games.

Account Status: Silver :(

With Bungie you know it's going to be way better than any of us can imagine. I hope they bring back Bungie Podcasts because I deeply miss that aspect of the community.

If the game is going to be next generation you know it has to be a huge open world game, with the new consoles still 3 years off that is a lot of time to get down to work not including the time they have had since Reach, and even with the new consoles out I doubt Bungie will make their game a release title, one thing I do hope is they start releasing some info this year so we are not kept in the dark for too long.

I'm surprised Bungie.net is full of Halo chatter and little to do with speculation on their new game IP.

What's with that?

I'm about as shocked as you are. The first time I get back on B.net in five months and it's still nothing but Halo chat.

This kind of speculation requires thinking. Something the Flood is not used to doing.

Actually the PS4 is holiday season 2013. That's only 18 months or so away.

I've been posting about the next generation xbox for this year or next year too. I personally think we'll see a current generation, next generation and cross platform engine very soon...will it be Bungie and destiny?

After all what is bigger than Halo? Single universe, on planet (FPS/RPG), off planet (RTS/MMO), user generated content and cross platform interaction (subscription/micro transaction)...that's what.
[/i][/b]

Bungie already have open access to multi-platforms, they like to take on ridiculous challenges and they really try to be innovative with their execution of new game mechanics e.g. Halo 2 multiplayer, XBL chat, Halo CE FPS console etc.

Imagine Bungie's next game with a universe where all players are in the same game data, much like Dust/Eve games.

Forget having a separate campaign and multiplayer! A single universe allows for both to become combined and a dynamic story evolving from gamers playing online.

The story is set and fleshed out from Bungie obviously giving art-style, game mechanics etc to the base game engine.

Now add more than just random multiplayer or campaign games without story/canon meaning or feedback to the universe itself.

The result is dynamic universe and game outcomes direct from players who choose to create or participate in the single universe. This is sort of an extension of Forge being rolled into the single universe of campaign/multiplayer.

If anyone can pull off a project as ambitious and possibly revolutionary as the speculation indicates while integrating it into a fun and immersive game and universe it would be Bungie. After all, look at what Halo has done for console FPS's and the amount of change that each Halo iteration has underwent while still remaining Halo in the core gameplay. Not to mention the in depth universe that Halo has including but not limited to books, comics, shorts, etc.

A combined campaign and multiplayer universe would also be very novel since current multiplayer in any game generally has two factions fighting each other with not much context as to why they are fighting in say, a box canyon in the middle of nowhere. After all, I cant be the only person who imagines up a context for multiplayer in general in regards to the main story for any game.

I agree with you.

I cap fools.

I only recently discovered Dust 514(?), but it's my dream game. RTS multiplayer, with the individual units being controlled by other players in first-person. The ships in the atmosphere tell units/players where to go (with penalties if they don't follow orders), while battling other ships. The RTS could have customizable ships, and the units/soldiers could have Halo-like customization. Maybe even an in-game economy system where you can buy weapons from the RTS ships. I don't know how well it would work, but if anyone can do it, Bungie can.

Well, forge world was an experiment; so was the hub layout of odst; as was invasion.

These, IMHO, are ideas Bungie were... field testing... before implementing on a larger scale.

Forge World + Hub + Invasion + Possible hints at MMOFPS =

A game where there is pre-fabricated cities, mission hubs and structures, but also unique and vast areas for players to explore, conquer and customise (as clans?)

Base building, vehicles, large 'maps' (possibly like the areas in borderlands) and starter factions that provide AI support.

In my head, it will be a 3 tier game; Combat, Territory Control, and Objectives.

For example, the more advanced a clan base, the more objectives (like invasion) needed to be fulfilled to claim it. Set times for battles and maybe starting areas for enemy PVP forces? Who knows.

I really hope Bungie's next game is an MMO in some aspect.

Maybe because next too nothing has been released to us. I'm getting impatient.

Name's WIlliam,

For the love of God it's pronounced mister-shag, not misters-hag.

I am still concerned that there is no information released about the future IP from Bungie. I get skittish when I don't hear information for too long, and it's been too long.

In the meantime, I can get behind Prey 2. That non-gameplay trailer that was released a while ago looked awesome if that's what they can get the game to feel like.

Indeed. In truth, when I saw this topic my day brightened a little (typing that made me feel so nerdy).

Hopefully, if your speculation is true, the more experienced players will impact the world greater. It seems that more time spent on the game should result in greater reward at least.

Also, you should include links that display other threads with significant information about Destiny. It may increase this thread's life as well as informing members of the already known situation.

Try to think of it as Half-Life 3. Even though you haven't heard anything about it, you just KNOW it's going to blow your mind.

I look at it this is a little too. For it to be next gen it has to be huge. On top of that im quite certain that when they announce it, it will only be a teaser trailer and the game will still be a year-2 years away. So we get teaser at E3 and then they say BTW we are going dark for 2 more years.

I quite like this take on things but how does the "starside" things fit in?

Just expand your idea to stars and planets scale? Seems good if you ask me.

I've seen this before and it looks fantastic. Fits in very well with what Bungie has been saying, even though that isn't very much and always very general.

Good find.
