I generally don't like to comment on leaks but the Bungie/Activision contract is in public court so...

I think this thread is mostly on the right track. Now all we need is confirmation on the genre mix'n'match and we're good to go.

Halo meets Starcraft was basically done before in halo wars.
But i get what your saying.

In my mind, im convinced that Bungie are working on something more akin to Dust 514/Eve. The bit that gets me excited is they seem to be brining that accross many platforms of gaming. The Pc, next-box and the future of playstation...

And with the creative collective mind that Bungie has... It will be, without a doubt. Amazing!

An interesting indie game I believe has been purchased by publisher to be professionally completed on a number of platforms.

Seems the project has gone dark while they're in crunch mode.

Introducing Warsoup: Claims to be Halo meets Starcraft

It's interesting to see the genre lines blur...

I came for Halo, but I heard the Tru7h, fought thru Carnage, and stayed for Bungie.

Woah, the Original post is so different since I first posted here. Ehat happened?

....

The most interesting aspect of all the info that was released via the court documents was the fact that the first game would be out for a full year on the Xbox 360 before its potentially released for other consoles.

Reason I say potentially is because the ports to other consoles have to make sense financially, which means that there is a good chance this series stays an Xbox 360 exclusive as far as consoles are concerned.

Halo/Starcraft sort of mixed in Halo Wars but more just Starcraft RTS play, no FPS play.

Warsoup is like FPS with RTS elements, I think that will make far more replayable multiplayer than just Halo Wars for example.

I too am convinced they're working on Dust/Eve type game plus add-on games to further create unique game but with one universe. It could speed up develop, less artwork etc but create very online recurring multiplayer style games.

I've confidence in Bungie to make an amazing game too, will it suck me in for 10 years like Halo's universe? Most likely not but I reserve judgement.

I revise my OP's quite a lot as threads go on.

The core concept I had is still intact but just updated from all my various posts and inputs from replies too.

I'd guess Bungie being xbox only for 10 years has their expertise on that platform. It makes business sense to target that platform first and release the other platforms secondary.

After all they have to deal with new hardware, architecture and online multiplayer systems too.

They call me the Polish Ninja.

Sounds absolutely amazing, think they will shed light on it at E3?

Believe. Bungie.

According to bungie my friend there will be no shedding of any sort of light on this IP of theirs. Although i have been a Bungie fan for quite some years and know for a fact that Bungie like to dish out a little shock and awe when they announce stuff. So i wont be too surprised if we do see something at E3 and they just aren't telling us. Stay hopeful fellow jumpers.

Well we've been estimating work on this project has been around since 2004-2008 with real development somewhere between 2008-2010.

So conservatively Bungie have been working on this for 2-3 years hardcore.

I'm guessing they'll miss this years E3 and holiday release. E3's website has no mention of Bungie as an exhibitor, although it's common they hide away secret big showings. I do think they're still dark until next year on this one.

From memory the Activision contract had Fall 2013 as their first game date.

Fall 2013 should demand a teaser at this E3.

I hope we get surprised tomorrow.

Me too, I don't see it happening though. Personally I think B.net will update to the new hotness before new game info.

Didn't you guys read the mail sack?

Have you guys finished your new game presentation for E3?

Nope. We never started one, and we're not going to be at E3 in any official capacity this year. Some of us will be there, lurking from booth to booth, but don't expect any announcements.

That means: No trailer, no teaser, no press release. Nothing. No announcements.

As much as I wanted information, no showing at E3 for Bungie.

More likely they will be at another gaming convention this year. If not, then they will probably show up at E3 next year with a teaser and a press release.
I'm just hoping that they will release some information about a new project that they are working on.

Keep going mate, all Halo's combine top 40 million game sales. That's not including xbox live subscriptions, console/peripheral sales, merchandise, books, DLC etc.

Now you get the idea of how big the Halo juggernaut is and just what the franchise did for xbox consoles and xbox live. All the other xbox developers should be thanking Bungie/Halo for what they helped xbox build.

Regarding Destiny/Tiger or whatever I can't wait to see how accurate my vision of the game is and exactly what shape the new universe or game mechanics Bungie are going to shape.

A simple life.

So....how is Activision involved in this? Are they just helping Bungie out financially, or are they developing it as well?

I guess time will tell, but I'm sure Bungie is going to need some crazy tech to pull this off. Usually, tech = money, and maybe that's where Activision comes in.

They just give bungie the money to make their next big game.

When in doubt, throw bombs at it.

I'm surprised Bungie.net is full of Halo chatter and little to do with speculation on their new game IP.

What's with that?

I'm honestly glad there is very little speculation. Usually when people speculate around here, we end up letting ourselves down because of how zealous we became about the "certainty" of things.

^Don't jump the gun just yet, this will happen. Just wait.

Funding and distribution, yes.

One cone to splatter em all!!

OP. had about the same idea as me. The plan kind of collides in the sense of how different consoles use different network systems and compete.

Some other stuff came up aswell. Alas i'm not A avid poster so the thoughts were never shared with you dear community. This could be bypassed with money indeed a.k.a tech. Seeing that microsoft bought Activision (from what i've read) I would imagine that money won't be A problem anymore.

Bungie needs to open the lid A bit. Like i've said before"It's so dark now that we won't even recognize the light when it comes around."

Ciao
