My name is Mark Mezzetta and I was a beta tester for Bungie's game Oni and Take Two's game Myth 3: The Wolf Age.

Bungie says their next universe will be bigger and greater than Halo.

Bungie's next game WILL be better than Halo. :)

I agree, I don't remember where I heard this, probably on the Halofest with the Bungie panel and I think they hinted, they wanted to create a new genre, but we have still to see that. Either way, whatever Bungie is cooking there, I'm craving to have it.

I would be very happy with a new genre or such unique mixing of many genres it's basically a new genre.

Warsoup looks very Halo'ish and interesting. Let us see what the Bungie juggernaut can deliver...the wait is killing me.

So... I see you found my page. what are you looking for? obviously nothing unless to send me a message. well if you are do that and be on your way. there's nothing important to see here anymore.

As would I. I'm sort of glad bungie didn't tell us anything revealing about their new universe yet. It only adds to the anticipation and the excitement when they do.

It is unknown yet, but so far Bungie hasn't dissapointed me yet, they created Halo, so they can create something new and better too.

I love re-visiting this thread.

We all have no idea about what this next bungie project is, yet we blow each others minds with open ended speculation. This is the fanbase Bungie have built and we are so excited for whats to come. It really does highlight how great these guys are as developers, and makes me proud to be a member of the 7th.

"Here, take my handkerchief."
Hoofin' it bare-chested since -blam-

I've enjoyed anticipating each Halo since CE, and am thoroughly enjoying anticipating Bungie's next creation. How much less enjoyment would there be without the anticipation? :-)

Not that I'll complain at all when the lid starts to come off. I've wondered if some sort of friendly agreement with 343i might be a factor -- It would be bad form for Bungie's new game to steal the spotlight from Halo 4, eh?

@Bungie: If asked whether you were keeping mum in part out of consideration to your brethren at 343i, what would your response be?

Gamertag: Nerd Don

I wouldnt mind seeing an FPS-RTS type game where different players would have different roles, like one person is controlling the weapon spawns and vehicle spawns while the others fight in first person.

Check out Warsoup videos, they seem to have a really cool in-game real time way of doing this.

Back in one of the Bungie ViDocs they talked about Forge being the mother of all multiplayer gametypes, which is very similar to what you describe.

I think the execution just has to be refined and part of the mainstream game for it to take off.

Very well said, few developers can say next to nothing and have an army of avid followers.

You do have to remember though. Bungie is notorious for being teases. They give you the tiniest nibble of something and let you ration it forever.

The thing is, Bungie loves to keep everything in secret so when the time comes, they blow your mind!

Not showing you small sneak peaks and slow progression of their work, or showing you how slowly they start to show you the weapons, that's just retarded, that's why Bungie knows when and how = Blow your mind!

Seriously.

The whole idea of the mmo-fps-rts really interest me. Much like the eve online/ dust514 setup with the intergalactic companies building weapons and stuff that actually get used in battle when the reach the soldiers. If that idea could be expanded on executed in the way only bungie could do it, it could possibly be the game to end all games. Giving something far more then a single experience for one type of player. I'm super excited. The anticipation is killing me.

True but it should be easier to be part of.

I don't play eve or dust so i wouldn't know what goes into playing, but I've read a lot about the whole "economy". It's awesome how games are being more and more connected. If both those platforms could be accessed from a central hub i'm sure it would be much more accessible.

  • 08.18.2012 5:50 PM PDT

I heard that first game will be xbox exclusive. Is it true? I thought all games were to be released on all platforms.
And I am not sure whether this game is to compete with Halo.
Kinda different genre to compete imo. And people from Bungie came to 343I to pour their passion to new Halos.
I am uncertain about current Bungie's capability.
Only time will tell.

Aye, according to activison the first game will be Xbox exclusive with all the ones after being multi platform. And if it helps I do believe there a far more new people working on halo then with bungie. There is still that base team of developers that have been there all along.

Honestly. This idea is amazing and it could be revolutionary to the Xbox as Halo 2 was.

Afew posts up mentioned how Bungie have gone dark, not showing tid-bits of infomation like 343i is with Halo etc.

What you're missing there is that, halo as a whole francise includes how the product is handled by marketing etc, when info is released, when vidoc's are shown. Its timed and coincides with a bigger- un-seen- production and marketing model.

When halo was handed over 100% to Microsoft and totaly given to 343i, that model, the halo marketing model went with it. In fact, from memory, even when the franchise was under Bungie im 99% sure that microsoft was responsilbe for all that information being made public, not bungie.

You can see this marketing model in use now with 343i and halo, the slow leaks on info about guns, game changes etc that are coming out on the weekly updates are all part of that marketing machine, hype building if you will.

To bring it back to the relevence of this thread, however. This bungie/activision partnership with their next project has its own marketing model, its own "plan". Of which, i bet is made so that Bungie can focus on this next project without giving to much thought into that area, and to just focus on development.

It will be interesting to see the "new Bungie" methods in terms of marketing, gameplay and engine features.

  • 08.22.2012 10:38 PM PDT

Yeah well,

Its something like that, or. As someone has said earlier as well. They had some kind of disclosed agreement that they would keep their next game quiet untill Halo 4 released.

50/50 either way

One cone to splatter em all!!

I truly hope bungie will make a appearance on pc with it's new title. It would greatly benefit their games performance wise. I mean performance means more to look experience an navigate. It's a win situation.

This would be great for them since pc gaming is coming back after being neglected for the past years. Sure the pc elitist was always their but we've been seeing a lot of people going to console over the last years. This was great for gaming in general cause a lot of the numbers that are on consoles nowadays were not gamers before that.

It has opened a new world for a lot of people. This will make the transition to pc even easier. Plus a lot of the "real gamers" are switching or coming back to pc gaming.

Make the step bungie. Starside should also be pc side in my opinion.
