If you ever try and fail.....erase all evidence that it was you who tried

Very nice speculation there. It certainly does have that Bungie ring to it.

A simple life.

Destiny will definitely be coming to the pc, but it's just a matter of time. Also, the new consoles will probably be able to handle the game just fine (although I can't say I'll be buying one).

Dude what if when he said "It will belong more to the players than to us" (or whatever it was) he was talking about creating a GIANT Sci-fi console version of FARMVILLE!

Sooo, OP, you're basically saying Bungie is working on "Spore: Galactic Adventures" for Playstation and Xbox cross console?

Funnily enough that sounds like a foundation for the "world becoming our own more than the developers".

In terms of character creation, progression, world building and global interaction I think those parts are accurate enough.

Now throw in FPS, MMO & RTS elements and you have an mix unique enough to almost define a new genre.

Sooo, now we know they're making "Eve Online" along with "Dust 514"

On Dust 514, you're actually one of the grunts, taking orders from a ship outside the atmosphere you're in. The ship is controlled by someone playing EVE and they deploy you (Along with [up too] 23 players)

You're basically playing an MMOFPSRPGRTS.

Computer playing people on EVE deploy their squads (who consist of people playing DUST 514 on PS3)

[EDIT]
Here's a video demonstrating what you will be playing on the PS3.

It honestly looks REALLY cool, I love the idea behind them making it so the people playing EVE decide where they want you, and send you in to kill everything. The people on the PC can actually send you supplies also.

Well, we don't know if it's gonna be like EVE but Bungie stated it was gonna be something new and different, something like a new genre, so that means it's not gonna be like EVE.

But it will probably have some of it and some of other stuff too, who knows.

In this alternate reality Bungie signed with Zynga instead of Activision :)

And it would be the most epic game nonetheless.

Yeah I can't justify buying any of the next generation of consoles, especially after building a new pc a month ago. Lesser tech, and I just don't see any great new IP's that would get me to purchase one.

I really hope it comes to PC, because this is sounding like the kind of game I've been hoping for for a long time.

Personally I want a seriously spec'd out next gen console. I'd like to see loss-leading under cost selling on a subscription model with a cost up front too.

It would be great for Bungie's next game and many other games too, why limit them to cheap consoles or performance?

Why, so I don't have to purchase some out of date tech or use my work PC's as gaming rigs etc. I like the easy and living room aspects of my console but I want serious bang for my buck this time.

I heard that first game will be xbox exclusive. Is it true? I thought all games were to be released on all platforms.
And I am not sure whether this game is to compete with Halo.
Kinda different genre to compete imo. And people from Bungie came to 343I to pour their passion to new Halos.
I am uncertain about current Bungie's capability.
Only time will tell.

First game will not be exclusive but likely to be if ps3 copy cannot be made in time.

I truly hope bungie will make a appearance on pc with it's new title. It would greatly benefit their games performance wise. I mean performance means more to look experience an navigate. It's a win situation.

This would be great for them since pc gaming is coming back after being neglected for the past years. Sure the pc elitist was always their but we've been seeing a lot of people going to console over the last years. This was great for gaming in general cause a lot of the numbers that are on consoles nowadays were not gamers before that.

It has opened a new world for a lot of people. This will make the transition to pc even easier. Plus a lot of the "real gamers" are switching or coming back to pc gaming.

Make the step bungie. Starside should also be pc side in my opinion.

Maybe a game that is in sync with the universe but i think making pc players play against xbox players will not be a good idea. Hope ps3 players play against xbox players.

I'm surprised Bungie.net is full of Halo chatter and little to do with speculation on their new game IP.

What's with that?

because right now we are in the dark. once bungie lifts thier skirt on Destiny, then this place will be rockin with new topics on Destiny.

If the game is good I have no issue with paid subscription. Seriously do you know how much blood, sweat, tears, sacrifice and resources goes into game development of this magnitude?

I really hope Bungie doesn't use a subscription base here, it would affect me seriously. Look what it's happening to WoW and StarWars.

The alternative is micro-transactions, which I find often leads to greedy developers and imbalanced gameplay for the masses.

I'd rather a single game release, DLC or a subscription model over micro-transactions.

Unless there is something new in the works for this? In game advertising for those that don't pay the subscriptions?

Well it's like you can achieve the same items but earning them with effort in the game, but all games are like that.

Dunno maybe something like runescape, free users get certain things, while paid subscribers get some extra things, first dibs on beta etc. Also remember it is console and we have not thought of singleplayer. Will ther be one.

That's sort of the point of my speculation. I think the single player and multiplayer are being rolled into one. Sort of like a open world MMO with user generated content in an FPS perspective.

Seems like always online gaming is no issue and it's a bridge gap between single player and multi-player. Look at what the community is doing with Just Cause 2 and massive multiplayer.

I have the impression it's gonna be more like Star Wars: The old republic style, because Joe Staten hinted about a story that never ends, but continues none stop.

That also sounds like mmorpg element to me.

As long as it stays real time, not endless menus or turn based etc then I'm happy with that.

This.

Also another idea i had was that the Bungie staff will be mission managers, and shall decide where to place their troops. They will create missions as the days go by, and you must join groups who are completing them.

If covert, then dealing with a bunch of ai, and a couple users within the area, getting some job done, alarm raised, and immediately you are told if in location to assist, while ai's start to be replaced with players.
