Real life? What is that?
Graphics are good, gameplay sucks. Overhyped IMO.

I don't want to help you. I'm sorry. =(

Hey,

I'm a hobbyist sound engineer. Is there any site where I can (legally) get Halo audio? Ie; Sgt. Stacker dialogue, or the soundtrack. Yes, I know I could get all this off youtube, but I'm a goody-two-shoes. Can I mix using Halo audio legally?

Bungie is no longer managing the Halo Universe. While our Halo-related forums and stats remain available, be advised that "official" answers and support about the Halo Universe (past, present, or future) are not.

Now on to your question, as long as it's for non-commercial use pretty much everything from Halo 3 is free to use.

Thanks bro. Does the disclaimer hold true for these issues as well?

Yes, you must always use a disclaimer.

In a time long past, the armies of the dark came again to the lands of men. Their leaders became known as the fallen lords, and their terrible sorcery was without equal in the west.
In 30 years they reduced the civilized nations into carrion and ash. Until the free city of Madrigal alone defined them. An army gathered there, and a desperate battle was joined against the fallen
Heros were born in the fire and bloodshed of the wars which followed and their names and deeds will never be forgotten

Actually, Marty owns ALL his Music. I don't think he will sue you as long as you cite him and you aren't using his music to make $$$.

Oh... So then the question DOES fit here, right?

  • 01.16.2012 7:13 PM PDT

Yes, there're too many numbers in my name.

Using the music, I'd think there'd be some regulation against that. However, I'm not so sure about the dialogue. Considering there's none of it in the official soundtrack, I wouldn't see it's seclusion from sound editors such as yourself.

Here's the Halo: CE dialogue.

Halo 2 dialogue

Halo 3 dialogue

Sources are from Halo.Bungie.Org, which by the way is extremely useful if you're into finding Halo related resources or information.

Why don't you ever check your facts? Please stop giving out false information.

From the game content usage rules:
Posted by: Microsoft
You can't necessarily use the soundtracks or audio effects from the original game. We often license those from third parties and don't have the rights to pass them on to you. We might mention on the community website for a particular game whether you have these rights, so you'd do well to check. And you might need permission from a third party, especially for games with licensed music. But we'll confirm right here that the music from Halo 3 is available for your use in non-profit ventures thanks to an arrangement with O'Donnell/Salvatori, Inc., composers of this iconic theme.
