But i wanted to play ZB slayer with a polite team of mature individuals with microphones.

lol good luck with that. Ever notice that many of the players in that playlist are mute banned?

Just mute them.

Always up for REACH customs!

Then they should call it the lag/quit/disconnection ban. especially if all of those things count towards it.

"You could have just muted him". I could have also just played rumble pit. But i wanted to play ZB slayer with a polite team of mature individuals with microphones. Hell, i even set 'search restrictions'. a joke, they are.

It's not the intent of the quitter that's the problem, it's the effect of the quitter on the games that he ruins.

You could have just muted that kid, that's no excuse either.

Reach has been out for a year, you should know by now any kind of DNF catches the quitter ban's attention.

Do you also quit whenever you're matched with a teammate in a party or one with no headset? No? What's the difference between that and playing with someone you have to mute?

No warning, and no previous quit bans here. That is the reason i am making this thread.

And since i am a conscientious person, i took breaks to allow my connection to strengthen, i played customs, and even campaign in between bad MM games. This was of course, done in an attempt to avoid ruining other people's games, and to pick up the weekly challenge. I also went out and got food at some point in the afternoon.

Maybe if you lagged out of two or three games in a row you should have stopped playing Matchmaking for a bit, since you knew your connection was responsible for repeatedly ruining people's games?

Were you given a warning before the quitter ban? Have you ever gotten a warning or a quitter ban in the past?

I never quit, so i have never had to worry about DNF's raising an alarm. Theres a reason i am not a phd in quit ban mechanics.

And to address your last question, there is indeed a difference. The mic-less kid can be good at the game and a rather nice person, ergo i do not quit (no reason to). whereas the kid i mentioned was a total brat who lacked any semblance of social civility, and not to mention he never really backed up the -blam!- he talked. It needs to be pretty egregiously annoying to make me actually want to quit, and not just mute you.

But the thing is, i dont want to have to mute anyone.
Cue request time:
If you are a nice person, and enjoy ZB. feel free to add me. Im always looking for good times and good people playing halo.

i make corpses

the quit ban is -blam!- retarded. if i dont want to play a certain game i shouldnt be penalised for choosing not to.

it doesnt need to be harsher at all you mongs. it needs gettin rid of

  • 01.17.2012 3:18 PM PDT

After like 50 quit bans it doesn't bother me so much anymore.

  • 01.17.2012 3:20 PM PDT

The only revision it might need is not penalizing the last two ppl who quit on a team.. or more depending on the team size.

But otherwise, you sign up for the playlist, you are responsible for the game you are given.

It's not all about you, have some accountability for your actions. Other people are trying to enjoy themselves, they're not just there for your amusement.

Que Custodiet Ipsos Custodes

--Tea-baggers are funny, it's as if they think they are far more hetero than the people who do it in real life, because they use their e-ballsacks to do it. What a manly victory dance.

I've been on quit ban probation once, and it was because I was raging all night and quit about 7 games in an hour and a half. I rage about once a night and never see it pop up.

Basically, stop quitting your games, or making people boot you. You have no rights, play nice.

I could see it being removed in a free for all playlist like rumble pit, but in a team game you are causing detriment to other people trying to play the game, especially if it is an objective based gametype. Be down just one or two people in invasion and tell me it doesn't frustrate you how hard it suddenly became.

Your mom needs revision.
Also, I brought in a local vet to diagnose whats happening. fingers crossed.

i do agree with the idea of not penalizing the last remaining players on a team though. thats a proper thing to do.

If youre speaking to me, i can safely say i never voluntarily quit games. except for the situation in the op. I dont ever make people boot me either. I play nice all day, everyday.

I quit last night because i was the fourth guy on a team of 3 distracting, childish d-bags, all of whom i felt needed to lose their game for acting so distastefully. But last night was an anomalous, singular event, and not in any way a normal night of halo for me.

I definitely agree with you on the invasion example. I hate being down a member or two in a team game, and i rage heartily at those who leave me hanging.

Removing it entirely could prove disastrous. Having it moderated by someone, or tuned up to be more aware of the difference between quitting/getting booted and lagging out/losing a laggy host, would be a safer option for the community as a whole.

Quit ban needs to be removed. If its back in Halo 4 Pff I will return it after I beat the campaign.
