"It will not be we who reach Alpha Centauri, and the other nearby stars, it will be a species very like us, but with more of our strengths and fewer of our weaknesses, more confident, far-seeing, capable, and prudent. For all our failings, despite our limitations and fallibilities, we humans are capable of greatness."-Carl Sagan

Ever since the Geas revelations in Greg's Forerunner saga it got me thinking.

What if John is alive because he has to be? What if he has Geas and he is part of a bigger plan with others?

When he fulfils his role what will become of him then?

I doubt his geas would be as sophisticated as keeping him alive throughout the entire war. I'd say it's similar to how he got Mjolnir training before even wearing the suit. His geas is basically How to not die Forerunner Edition. It isn't the only thing that has kept him alive, however it sure helped.

There is a thin line between insanity and genius, i would put myself right in the middle and i enjoy every second of it.

Hopefully, the story of John doesn't stretch on becaus it has to ( because of his popularity ) but is just starting a new epic chapter. No doubt, there is a huge possibility of new characters ( Need Co-Op, dont we? ), but john is the halo icon... after all of the epic battles, mysteries, and alot of tbagging, I think john could not be replaced, but renewed as a character with more backround info. As arriving on a seemingly forunner planet, maybe we'll get our answers and be done with the mystery of 117. But highly doubtful it'll all be revealed in short time. A huge character with little backround needs a huge expansion in his history. A new game fresh full of stories will unrap chapters unknown, and hopefully lead to new ones, thus... never boring us again with the numbers 1, 1, and 7...
