I enjoyed the Firefight, but the Campaign could be confusing at times. Although, you have to cut Bungie some slack when they made that game, they developed it in a years time or less.

I wouldn't say I was disappointed. :p

+1 for you good sir.

Firefight was a nice surprise.

"I will show you how a true Prussian officer fights!"

"And i will show you where the iron crosses grow..."

- "Cross of Iron"

Not at all. I would actually call it the second best campaign, the first being CE. I guess it takes a more mature mind to appreciate a good mystery!

I loved ODST. One of my favorite games. The atmosphere was perfect. I can wander New Mombasa for hours on end.

It had a very mature campaign and I have a feeling people didn't like it as much as the trilogy is because of it's lack of an "epic space opera" that was the base of the trilogy. I absolutely loved the campaign.

I agree. The atmosphere of the game was new, and I never actually expected that from a Halo game.

I love almost everything about ODST.

Also, OP you've made several off-topic threads in this forum, including this one. It's not a big deal but you'd get better responses in their appropriate locations.

Vengeance only leads to an ongoing cycle of hatred.

I love ODST. It has one of the best Halo campaigns, if not the best. Plus, it was all about the ODSTs, which is my favorite military branch. The Firefight was outright awesome. Infinitely better than Reach's individualistic, cR-whoring FF. It really emphasized teamwork. The only downside is the lag. Overall, ODST is one of my favorite Halo games and I'm disappointed that they're not planning on making another ODST.

Also, I loved all the characters in ODST. The character development, etc, was superb. They did well with the characters. I enjoyed playing as them and just listening/seeing them. I still find it really difficult to choose a favorite out of the ODST squad.

It's a shame that Firefight became what it did. With all the customisation possibilities I thought it was going to be amazing, in Reach (ODST's level of intensity, combined with an all-Hunters round, anyone). However, Arcade/cR just seemed to destroy what made the experience so great. Let's hope 343 realise this, and makes amends in 4.

  • 01.18.2012 5:34 AM PDT

No, my hopes weren't too high. Treat it as an extension and you can love it loads.

  • 01.18.2012 5:35 AM PDT

I don't see it as a disappointment. I see Halo 3:ODST as something new and fresh.
I'm glad Bungie tried a different perspective of the Halo universe tbh.

smart, interesting, seems out of place.

Official fan of Assassin's Creed, Call of Duty, (Problem with that?) Halo, and Bungie, also a total gaming junkie.

No, I rather enjoyed it. ODST was the first Xbox 360 game I ever played, and the whole setting was awesome. I was also thrilled to finally fight on Earth. Reach on the other hand, was quite a dissapointment. I expected an action packed campaign, one that rivaled even that of Halo 2's, Multiplayer that would make Halo 3's seem pathetic, and a story that makes Halo CE's look like CoD Black Ops. Instead, I got a bunch of idiots commiting suicide, the WORST maps in the history of Multiplayer maps, and a poorly executed story.

You have to remember, it was intended to be dlc, just a short campaign. The cancellation of the Halo movie made them able to create a whole new game, and a darn good one at that. Lost Platoon will forever be my favorite firefight map... I think my record was stockpiling 23 brute choppers?

I loved ODST. The characters felt like people, the atmosphere was incredible, and they got more of a realistic combat (instead of 1 man vs the world) without slowing down the game at all.

Firefight=epic
Campaign= Best in terms of atmosphere
Action= epic

No complaints from me.

THIS. ODST was a massive enjoyment for me. The characters and different and diverse atmosphere's of the game made for an excellent campaign with high replay value for me. Firefight was also BADASS.
