I do. So let's say I find a server called "24/7 Battle Creek". I think, "cool, it has 15/16 players", and I join.

Then I find out it's another one of those -blam!- crap rocket start games. Who else absolutely HATES them?

yeah, cause the problem is that they put the most destructive weapons on the smallest maps. they need to do it on a large map, like hang em high, or another type of big one.

When you're starting weapon is a rocket...

Yeah I only hate the ones on small maps like longest or wizard. The only good maps to play rockets on are blood gulch, sidewinder, and hing 'em high

Actually I think that those are some of the funnest games. Get 16 people on Longest CTF to fifteen with rockets, no time limit. I got to almost 300 in a game once. It was something like 273 but I died alot too. The average life there is probably less that 45 seconds. It helps with reaction times, and is a lot of fun. Other maps are Rat Race, Chillout, Damnation, Derelict(though not as much) Habg 'Em High is ok for it. The best rockets game is Rckets On Prisoner. They even named a machinima contest after it.

but guess what? my upcoming clan war with [SDC] is a Blood Gulch Rocket game...xD im not screwed or anything (im pretty decent with the rocket to be honest), but its SOOOO boring playing with them...but thats just my opinion, for all you people who read my comment and likes rocket gametypes, dont take this the wrong way. ;)

Rockets are for beginners, seriously. However, there are people I know out there are amazing with rockets.

I do occasionally enjoy spending several hours going into servers and relishing the conflict in the chaotic frenzy of rocket games. (And I am one of those people who are amazing with rockets, joe. XD)

Using rockets take skill, compared to Halo 2's rocket launcher. There's nothing like taking a warthog on the other side of the map. I don't mind rocket games at all, but I think that it's real nuisance when that's the only thing people play all day.

RLs are great weapons which are easy to learn how to use, but hard to master. However, I don't like it when people keep spawn killing with them, or think "Hey, rockets are really powerful and so I should use them instead of bullets" and then I three shot them in the head with a pistol.

I enjoy rocket matches some-what.... But though as most of you stated, on a tiny map it's soo annoying, you know? You just spawn and your dead, and if the hoster is really...crule, he would have the death penalty on the game would just be a complete loss.... But at the same time I've seen Infinity with rockets, and no vehicals...god that get's boring the moment you join! I guess really Blood Gulch, or Hang Em' High are the two best maps by my standards, for a game of heavy weapons....

Argh, Kim, you rocket crazies scare me. It's easy enough to lead with a sniper rifle or pistol, but with a rocket?! You have to lead like 30 feet in front of a hog or ghost to hit them directly! I gotta work on doing that someday. At least you're probably not like the nubs who jump and shoot all the time. I guess it's okay to do that from far away, but from 2 feet away, that's kinda cheap unless the rocketeer (hehe, remember that movie?) plans to get rid of 4 enemies at the same time to cap.

Hm...the H2Xbox rockets aren't Fire-and-Forget, people. They lock on only to vehicles, not onto humans. If you fire onto a vehicle, it's fire and forget, but onto a human target, it's a dumb rocket exactly like that of H1PC.

Hey, jump-firing works well with rockets. You take (marginally) less splash damage and are in a better position to hit the grount the opponent is standing on.

Leading is a matter of practice, it's actually slightly easier to lead with a rocket a medium distance (if the opponent is stupid and travels straight) because if you aim at the floor there's a good deal of splash damage. Just keep practicing.

Me15ter, even vs vehicles only, it's still better than our ones. Our ones take a great deal of skill to dumb-fire at banshees through the lag.

...exactly what a fire and forget weapon is. It wouldn't be one if you shot it then had to guide it, like a TOW missile. In case you were wondering fire and forget has nothing to do with whether it locks or not, its whether you can guide it manually or not. If you could sit off to the side and guide it like a Sentinel or whatever from James Bond, then it wouldn't be a fire and forget weapon.
