I think its just common sense, i mean there has to be an earths army left. Because theres gonna be human weapons, or atleast there has to be, and with human weapons that means there needs to be a ton of spots with human ammo everywhere, and if they bring back the health bar like people on these forums have said they wanted (well alot did) than their needs to be health kits which are human items so there needs to be humans. Also theres probably going to be the warthog atleast not to mention other human vehicles so there has to be humans to drive these or atleast to be around with them or you guys have to admit the game would suck. And also theres been no confirmation that the human army is gone, at the end of halo 2 there were still orbital defense platforms left along with human ships fighting covenant, and if elites join the humans than i would say humans have a good chance of holding their own. And if some of you mention the trailer and say thats proof that theres no humans, its not proof, i mean come on, even frankie said that those ships were just excavation ships, and bungie made it so the trailer doesnt give away any info from the story line. So thats my evidence for saying that there has to be an earth army/humans in general left, any thoughts?

of course there have to be an earth army left, just becasue it isn't shown in the trailer doesn't mean that there are none. Well I don't want the health bar back, it was a pain in the ass in Halo CE to have one little red dot left of HP when entering a big room with plenty of covenant on Legendary and there were no medkit anywhere to be found

It'd be cool if the entire army is defeated and you get to fight with the resistance..

Yeah, there most definately has to be some military left. Like you said, who would jump in the Warthogs? And theres no way the Covenant could have wiped out absolutly EVERYTHING.

The Earth army has either been distracted, or obliterated. It is left, but what I want to know is-- why did the Covenant invade? I thought they were (mostly) with the humans since H2...

Yea, I think that humans are around still, but the elites wouldn't be allies until later. After the vision of the end I bet soon he will find elites to fight along with.

well one must understand that the covenant army is now split into different factors, and the profits still want to start the great journey and thats why they decided to invade

Old GTs; RebelRobot, Flamedude

Well dont forget that Admiral Hood was still alive and fighting aboard his mac station at the end of Halo2. I'm sure there are others alive, cos everyone loves fighting alongside the marines.

Lets hope that the helljumpers are seen more often this time though.. And are a bit tougher.

Ya humanitys gunna die...Y u ask because either A.I killed them(I always kill all my marines before i fight covenant ther gunna die anyway B. somestupid grunt accidently plugged in the wrong coordinance for the covanent fleet so they accidently went to earth and said WTH why dont we kill the humans while we are here even though we dont really no y we are fighting except for the fact that its entertaining or C. the prophits are physcos and are a little over the religios bar of things...one could say blinded by it so they are gunna destroy the universe....i rest my case.

it is hard to wipe out an entire army all over a planet.

if one lives, more will join. they will slip past the eyes of the covenant and create an underground resistance. however there wont be 1 marine left. there will probobly be about 1 million ( considering that the u.s military today has about 5 mill)

Yeah, the health bar sucked hairy ballzack. Getting rid of "Health" really helped to smooth out game play a ton.

It's not like "health bar" is anymore realistic than what we've got in Halo 2. The last time I check, our soldiers over in Iraq don't run around Baghdad looking for heathpacks every time the catch a bit of shrapnel.

They do either get a medic or lay on the ground and scream and squirm. So I wouldn't want it to be realistic.

The United States does not have a standing army of 5 million soldiers. The United States has approximately 499 000 active duty soldiers, and another 700 000 National Guard Reservists. That is formidable, but falls short of your 5 million tally.

It is largely believed that China has the largest standing army in excess of 3 million soldiers.

Anyway, I just wanted to clarify that.

Of course there are still Earth forces. As long as their is any human population, there will be a resistance. We humans are a pesky race to get rid of.

i recon there has to be some humans left although come to think of it the covenent made a good job of glassing reach but as said before there will be resistence members and its also a good excuse to wave flags throw fire bombs and shout "forward children of the revolution" but with guns and plasma .....any bit off topic there but yeah thell be humans :D (soory bout the spellings im in a rush)

ps if we get elites on our side wont we get hunters and grunts as well as they sided with the elites against the brutes in halo 2

Of course there's humans left. John 117, Miranda Keyes, Sargeant Johnson, Sargeant Stackers, the goodies! Not to mention the rest of the surviving crew that was on Delta Halo and High Charity.
