I got voice banned awhile ago and still am so I guess its permanent and even my new acc is muted too. But anyway I dont really even like playing reach now because it has pretty much ruined my gaming experience, all I play is matchmaking, btb, team slayer, objective, basically anything where team communication is important. I feel kind of ashamed is my voice that annoying or something??? :( but to be honest the mute ban I think is really stuped if someone doesnt wanna hear me, all they have to do is press x

People should not have to go out of their way to remove incessant drones from the game. You got muted by too many people for a reason.

What if you get muted because the other team doesn't want to hear your call outs mid game?

Not always true.

Never knew of the mute ban until I came onto this forum.
Never mentioned it in game. Used to go through and mute people while waiting in MM ... didnt learnt of the alternative, nor knew it was causing harm to anyone.

In fact still do.
Now know, but too lazy, far to easy to run it through in MM (plus fills the time).

Played mlg for one day. Been mute banned for months.

Okay well if you thing pressing a button is having to "go out of your way" then you must be like really super extremely lazy...

A couple friends of mine are mute banned, but thats because they are jerks lol. We are always raging and swearing we inexplicable die, or something. Another friend hardly ever says anything but he consistantly gets the most kills, so in his case i think its tryhards getting mad because they suck, and making false reports. Personally i like chatty players as long as they arent dropping n'bombs.

www.jasonbullock.net (coming soon)

The first thing I do when I come across a muted teammate or opponent is to un-mute them to see why they are muted. 8 times out of 10 there is a good reason. The most prevalent one is their mic is not functioning correctly and are inaudible anyway. The other is they speak another language. Once in a while they will just be annoying whether it be that they use abusive language or high pitched in their voice or maybe they constantly play music or whatever.

I usually mute everyone in the game with me, because all I ever hear is inaudible growling, those Xbox Live mics are crap.

RC Clone is the anti-thesis of a lurker.

No, Unfortunately it will never be removed from this game.

It's just too hard for people to use the team/party only feature.

mute ban is annoying, and silly. just force people to manually mute or use team/party audio. not too hard.

Old school Bungie, born and raised,
In the Septagon is where I spend most of my days.
Relaxin', maxin', posting all cool,
Talking about Halo, life and some school.
Got in one little argument, and the mods got scared,
they said "You're gonna get banned and your member title'll be bare!"

Compromise. What if, instead of a mute ban, a new disciplinary action was taken in which the offending player started off each game muted to everyone they play with? This way, they could be heard by people, but only to those who want to hear them from the get go.

Seems reasonable to me. Thoughts?
