You face an opponent who has never known defeat, who laughs in foreign tongues at your efforts to survive. This is Reply suicide.
"Oh Molly Connoly ruined my life, I thought the world should know."

Um... In Halo 1... Cortana says the Rings are called "Fortress Worlds" that the Forerunner built. And before she can say that they were made to contain and study the Flood (which would wipe them out eventually, since there was no sentient life in the galaxy for a while, but then it came back).
The Rings were made to trap the Flood and keep them from spreading. They also fire a weapon, which I'm assuming, BURNS all the planets to a toasty crisp (notice that the Sentinal weapons BURN and the other Forerunner tech typically BURNS with Plasma and the like).
Time travel doesn't seem likely, especially since you're bastardizing a LOT of what is said in the games.
343 Refers to your Mjolnir armor as a "combat skin". He generalizes what it is. It's clearly not of Forerunner descent because of this. He says, "A class 12 Combat skin, yours only rates as a class two". I believe this was inserted by Bungie to impress you on Master Chief's combat skills.
And in the books, 343 Guilty Spark is referred to as "slightly crazed". And if you play Halo 1, he DEFINATELY seems that way. Thousands or Hundreds of thousands of years have passed without ANY interactions. The Monitors are basically sentient life and if you've studied psychology... You have to have human interaction or you do go crazy.
Time has driven Guilty Spark crazy to an extent. So he doesn't realize that you are NOT the first Reclaimer.
You'll also notice he says, "I conjecture that the other species is currently responsible for releasing the Flood". Well... The Covenant is a group of MANY species of alien, not one. He's confused at this as well.
The Covenant have CLEARLY been around much longer than humans. How do we know this? The Prophets and the Elites were locked in mortal combat for a LONG time before the Prophets proposed a truce. They could look for Forerunner tech and how to take some "Great Journey" in return for the Elites protecting them. So we know that the Elites and the Prophets have had the privalege of space flight for quite a while. How else could they be locked in combat?
And other species, as they were encountered, were either destroyed or assimilated. The Hunters were a force to be reckoned with and were EVENTUALLY TAMED to work for the Covenant. The Engineers were the same way. They were captured and shown damaged equipment to fix. So they fixed it, that's what they do.
The Grunts tried to rebel and were suppressed by the Elites...
The Brutes were assimiliated along with the Drones.
So your theory on time travel doesn't work.
And the Gravemind is probably referring to the past of humans (that they were the Forerunners at one time, hence, knowing their past) and the future of humans (he's going to turn them all into Flood, or they'll activate the rings and die anyway, hence, knowing their future).
And if it's not the Gravemind speaking through Cortana, perhaps it's Cortana speaking for herself, about the Flood. Telling the Flood that she knows their past and knows their future (complete destruction!).
You take too many liberties when proposing the time travel theory... You don't even look at any of the facts we KNOW to make it.
I don't want to put you or your theory down... But it just doesn't hold water.
It is a good story though. Perhaps you should write a book.
