Subject: Bungie store: The future in the past?...

In a time long past, the armies of the dark came again to the lands of men. Their leaders became known as the fallen lords, and their terrible sorcery was without equal in the west.
In 30 years they reduced the civilized nations into carrion and ash. Until the free city of Madrigal alone defined them. An army gathered there, and a desperate battle was joined against the fallen
Heros were born in the fire and bloodshed of the wars which followed and their names and deeds will never be forgotten

After seeing the shirt thread for classic Bungie shirts and all the demand for Bungie baseball caps, it got me thinking.

I think it would be cool for a limited time to go back in time. Maybe have some classic stuff remade and added to the store.

Like re-make:
- classic Bungie shirts
- classic Bungie hats
- Myth T-shirt
- Oni T-shirt
- Marathon T-shirt
- Old Bungie soundtracks (Myth/Marathon soundtracks)

But what do you guys think? I see people request older items all the time on the forums but would you support Bungie if they brought back older items back for a limited time?

Because I mean if a lot of people request to have some more "Bungie classic" stuff, Bungie marketing might re-make those items, especially in this time of darkness.

They need a 'vintage' section of the Bungie Store.

  • 01.18.2012 2:15 PM PDT

Not this -blam!- again...

Anyway, it'd be kinda cool, I guess. These things are expensive to make, and I doubt the income for these items would be high, so they would probably lose money. I don't foresee this happening.

“Oh, it’s a little bit of everything, it’s the mountains, it’s the fog, it’s the news at six o’clock, it’s the death of my first dog, it’s the angels up above me, it’s the song that they don’t sing, It’s a little bit of everything.”
- Dawes, A little bit of everything

The 15th of every month should entail "Blast from the past" sales on the Bungie store.

Then I could buy a Marathon shirt and be a gamer hipster, seeing as I liked Marathon before it was cool.

A "vintage" category makes any site better.

Ready are you? What know you of ready? For eight hundred years have I trained Jedi. My own council will I keep on who is to be trained. A Jedi must have the deepest commitment, the most serious mind. This one a long time have I watched. All his life has he looked away... to the future, to the horizon. Never his mind on where he was. Hmm? What he was doing. Hmph. Adventure. Heh. Excitement. Heh. A Jedi craves not these things. You are reckless.” -Yoda

Maybe. I would love more Marathon shirts though!

Underwear please. While i have a Bungie shirt keeping my upper body beautiful, i need underwear to make my crotch a true 'Holy Grail'.

You would be surprised. Many people would buy new stuff from their old games.

I know the Money clip completely sold out, forever.

I could see a re-vamped classic Bungie store line would do very well.

Well, the money clip kicked ass. Personally, I don't see a lot of people (other than yourself and some older members) buying much of this stuff.

I was going to put a Cortana quote in here from Halo: CE when Keys hands over Cortana to Master Chief, but then I realized it would come off too obscene.

If you make something kick ass, they will buy it.

I don't fully understand.

But I am sure anything doing with time does bother the soul in infinity.

Me neither. I see thread derailment.

Something I would like to add, It would be extremely awesome if they would sell helmets. It would be expensive and highly unprobably but the only way could could get one is either to make one or find a person to custom build it themselves. Think about, all the spartan helmets and a Marathon helmet.

Bungie has a few but that may not work unless they were small, cheap, and mass produced.

Making and shipping a shirt or CD is a lot cheaper than a full size helmet.

Now that would be some kick-ass -blam!-.

No, it wouldn't. The majority of people here are here because of Halo, and don't have enough of an emotional connection to any of the older IPs to justify spending money on it, which means Bungie won't spend the time/effort/cost to do it.

EDIT: Exactly. Halo merch is where the real money is, and they can't sell that without some legal agreement, I don't think. I don't think they'd want to, either.

I still wouldn't mind some like more Myth and Marathon stuff in Bungie store even it was temporary.

The only Marathon thing in Bungie store is a hoodie.

System Integrity Confirmed

One big thing for them to do is ship to bloody Canada PLEASE WHY NOT multiple other sites have done it from america

  • 01.18.2012 4:43 PM PDT

I acknowledge my user name is stupid. However, I promise I'm not.

Disclaimer: The latter is a lie.

Can you still not find these, Ken?

It is a nice idea but I don't see it happening, personally. Also, it doesn't particularly effect me as I live in England. I'd love a classic Bungie t-shirt though. I'd absolutely love it.

Doesn't change the fact that it most likely won't happen. They'd have to make enough money from it to justify making them/selling them/shipping them. We know you would spend everything you have on it, but not many other people would. Try looking somewhere other than Bungie, or make your own.

Wasn't there a sword for sale at one point in the past? I vaguely recall viewing a fantasy-style edged battle implement.
