Halo 2 will be perfect

On the end of this page posted on HBO,
HERE
It says it will be possible to have a 64 player game. Does anyone think there will be such a large map to support all those players? And would anyone have that many players and TV’s ? Would any of you actually have the determination to do this?

I highly doubt it. But it would make for some awesome CTF.

hoho...dmm...that would be so awesome..if they had it on Live...32 vs 32 running for eachothers flags...NAH..they wont make it...maybe something like Survival Assault..only 1 life.. i wish they could make halo a MMO Action Shooter like Planetshift with two sides..Covenant and Terrans..

That was simply a conclusion that the author jumped to. He was told that they had 16 xboxes linked, which means one player each. But he assumed that it meant you could do 4 per a box, and 4x16= 64. That's all, no truth behind it. And it would NEVER work on Live.

for 64 players wut if the game was a ffa(free for all) not a ctf. that would be a nonstop killfest right there.

just couldnt work with our given current technology. if it were on live with all the awesome particle effects, real time lighting, and all the rest of halo 2's goodness. Our dsl/cable modems just couldnt handle that much if youre talking in upload and download speeds.. If it where a LAN the processers in our xbox's running at 733 mhz couldnt handle that much with out extreme lag issues. Battlefield 1942 does run a 64 player game with mimuim requirements of 500 some mhz of speed but that lags a bunch. even with each player on BF1942 has a 2.something Ghz of speed it lags over an internet connection. I am not sure about its 64 player LAN but im sure there is lag unless a very nice network cards. So if your xbox shares processing speed with a pc which requires moding. it might work but think about it. 16 xboxs with 4 people on each hooked up to 2 computers its just unbelivable that anyone would do that.

It's 64 players over a LAN.

Yo Halo53, I'm real happy for you and I'ma let you finish, but Beyonce had one of the best bungie.net profiles of all time. OF ALL TIME!

64 players? The maps would have to be HUGE. And what happens (on XBL) when you first host a game, say 2 on 2 on those huge maps before friends join? Holding 16 players on RS3 with out lag is very impressive. I have been able to host 16 player matches but depending on who is in the room depends on the lag. One guy with a slow connection would slow down the server. For 64 players? It would lag like CRAZY. It would need to be like 64 T1 connections. I would like to see maybe 32, but 64?!? That is just crazy. CRAZY.
