Subject: not registering hedshots

I've read a lot about unloading clips into heads and not registering. I have greens on all my network, always get red on reticle and someone will down my sheilds in two shots and kill me after my 'n' shots.

I would just like to understand how this all works and why someone with a slower connection effects everyone else. Furthermore, how some people get to lead the multiplayer game and obtain this clear network advantage. I'm not saying that there is a better platform or whatever, but there must be a solution to this problem. It is very frustrating as a paying customer.

thoughts?

Lagging is bound to happen when trying to connect people from all over the world.

So basically... Waypoint is pro-vanilla?

Waypoint isn't pro-anything so much as they're just anti-intelligence.

Search with 'good connection' on. That's really all the advice I can offer, because I pull host quite frequently.

You were obviously facing hackers, better make a separate thread complaining about it.

thanks for the advice, sounds like a plan

I will. I'm curious how one would even hack the live framework? I'm a programmer, not a gaming programmer (which is hardcore), but non-the-less it intrigues me as to how someone would even go about doing that......

Thanks for the advice!

Protip: Sign your posts with "/sarcasm" or something similar, or someone just might take you seriously.

It's the Internet. There is literally no voice to tell the sarcasm from the serious.

...

I was going to say...

Alternately, you could make the sarcasm so painfully obvious, only a completely brainless person could miss it. Like you just demonstrated.

Okaaay, that one I'm having trouble with.

What is with this word? Why are you saying just one word? What does it mean to you?

I'm a Halo turkey GOML GOML GOML

I'm pretty sure that your upload speed determines how fast your shot registers and your download speed is how fast you actually see what the other person is doing and their shots registering on you. So if your upload is very slow, your shot will not register as fast as it should, causing it to not register at all because your connection has already downloaded the person not being in the same spot that you just shot at. But that's just what i'm guessing.

I'm here to have fun and win some games. Best part about Halo is easily the crazy custom games infection shenanigans that go on. If anyone wants to do some of these just hit me up on Xbox live.

I've had a logical solution for a long time. Anyone with lower than 3 bars can't play ranked multiplayer, just custom games. This applies to every game.

This is a little less logical but force people to have to have mikes in order to play in certaing gamemodes, mainly MLG.
