Subject: Direct X problem! I need help desperatly!

Ok, I tried all of the troubleshooting tips for this problem and it still hasn't helped! I have a new computer (I'm typing on it now) and I was eager to get Halo PC installed on it. I went trhough the normal process involved in these things, and started up Halo. But, as I did, there was an error and the game had to shut down.

I check the Direct X software using dxdiag, and guess what? 3D rendering is disabled and unavailable! Without that, I can't play Halo PC...does anyone know how to fix this? I tried reinstalling Direct X 9.0, it didn't work. :(

We need computer specs to begin with, though. Specifically, we need the specs on the Graphics Card, just go to Start>Run and type

dxdiag

That should bring up your specs as well as the DX version it's running on.

Oh, and if it's brand new, it should still be under some type of warranty. Go call the Tech Support if it's that complicated.

Ok the DX Version is 9.0c
My processor is Intel Pentium 4 CPU 3.06 GHz (2 CPU's)
Memory is 1024MB RAM

Video card info...

Name is Number Nine Visual Technologies Revolution 4
Chip type is T2R4 SDRAM
DAC type is T2R4 Internal
Approx. Total Memory is 32 MB
Display Mode is 1600x 1024 (32 bit) (60 Hz)

Will that be enough?

ya, 32mb is really bad. get a ATI or Nvidia card, even a geforce 4 is better than that. go to a computer repair shop or some old computer place, you can probably buy a like 64 mb card there.

Where did you get a new computer that came with that awful card? The salesman who sold you that should be killed. First you need to figure out what type of video slot you have (PCI, PCI-Express, or AGP), you should be able to find that in the user manual. Then you can get a better card based on how much money you have to spend.

not enough info try unninstalling halo then put it back or do that with DX. Maybe the Dilbert Theory would work (uhhh-reboot). I would just sit and dothe inthinkable until it works. You should just do the first to-mine is to risky
