so precision weapons felt more like spray 'n pray weapons. It was just boring.
Wat.

The BR and the carbine already have open reticules.

The sniper I can't vouch for very much, since I haven't used it that much. But I honestly don't see many maps where it's useful for it's intended purpose.

All Halo titles are revered by the predecessor.
When Halo 2 came out, people complained it wasn't like Halo 1.
When Halo 3 came out, people complained it wasn't like Halo 2.
Now it's Reach, people are still complaining, but now it's usually to the wrong people.

Prefer what you want, but there is no truly "best" Halo game.

Maybe because the games have progressively gotten worse

Maybe to you.

I don't know if you've played Halo: CE (Anniversary) but it was often "clunky-er" to move about than in Reach.

Monkey, you are one of the few people on here I've seen who aren't illiterate, and aren't obsessed with Halo 3. You deserve an internet from me.

Not sure what you mean by that. Care to elaborate?

Thank you very much, but I do ask that you be a little considerate to others even though you disagree with them (and vice versa). I try to stay neutral on somethings, to be fair. Getting angry or upset with someone here is normal. Everyone does from time to time, but that is no reason to insult them.

Play nice.

I think it has something to do with people's nostalgia goggles.

I could very much be wrong, however.

Hmm. I agree with you on that, but people need to see that times change. CoD has been doing the same thing for ages, and now listen to the hate it gets.

First time was revolutionary, 2nd time perfected it, 3rd time made it boring. Reach delivers some fresh content to the Halo universe, and I like it.

the gun pointed at the head of the universe

Posted by: EliteZealotFTW

When I was shot at, it barely showed it. When I shot at someone else, I could barely see that I'm doing damage. The weapons felt like paintball guns, and sounded less threatening than a cap gun.

That was pretty much my impression from day one. And there were too many gadgets I didn't need cluttering up my utility belt and being lobbed at me- I just wanna frag out!

I can tolerate AA's simply because Reach has satisfying weapons.

Yeah, I hear what you're saying.

However, I like to go back to the previous formula every now and again. Just to see if I can get any closer to that 50 I've always wanted.

<(-_-)> Teh mokey is not amused

It was the exact same when halo 3 came out. People were complaining about how equipment was gonna ruin the game and stuff just like how they're complaining about armour abilities in reach.

  • 01.19.2012 1:38 AM PDT

Halo 3 is amazing. Everything a Halo game should be Halo 3 is that.

hella frreal

First of all, I disagree with you in that I found Halo 3's campaign lackluster. It's just kind of anti-climactic and forgettable. But on to multiplayer. To me, the main reason I don't enjoy Reach MP as much is because it completely butchered the vehicle combat. I did and still do use the Banshee in Halo 3 all the time. In Reach feels clunky and slow. There's also the matter of the Scorpion tank being unusable because of how overpowered it is.

It frustrates me how vehicles have their own health. Work hard to wear down an enemy and hijack their vehicle, and you're repayed with something that can be destroyed with two bullets. Almost everything about BTB is a let-down for me, and I'm a General in the playlist in Halo 3.

There's also the custom games. Aside from some race tracks, they're all dull. Nobody wants to play them. I don't even know why this is because the customs fever in Halo 3 was ridiculous.

I don't feel like going into meticulous detail and picking apart every aspect of the game, but I simply do not enjoy Reach as much as Halo 3. The Title Update did make it a lot better, but it's simply not as fun for me.

And no I'm not one of those people who lauds every previous game in the series. H2's multiplayer was downright stupid. Most of the fun came from how incredibly broken it was and the abundant modders.

Black Dawn Mercenaries - Commander

For me, all of the halo games are enjoyable and i am biased to neither of them. Of course each have their pros and cons. Only problem i have had with reach.. is that anytime i get into a ff arcade match its kids using the -blam- fuel rod and nothing else.

Talk about easy mode. -_-

But who designs a gun that bounces...? Seriously, who uses a gun like that?

I prefer my weapons straight and to the point, as it were.

Marine Corps.
Semper Fi.

My problems [with Reach] are basically just full parties, mlg, and people who go out of their way not to get killed.

Your gripes are with the audio and the aesthetics of damage-dealing and damage reception?

Those definitely should not make or break a game. I can agree that some of the weapons sound a bit puny but I never had trouble factoring damage.

The vehicle combat I can't say much for as that's your opinion. But I can say that I prefer having vehicle health instead, as most maps with vehicles are symmetrical. Imagine playing on Haemorrage, and the other team has both the Wraiths/Scorpions. You're going to get utterly wrecked, and it won't be fun. At least with this system, you've got a chance of destroying one instead of going for the hijack and getting raped by the other one anyway.

The custom games is the fanbase, not the game, so you can't really criticize the game for that.

Also I don't understand how you didn't like Halo 2 MP, but I'll leave that one where it stands.

Try playing with duct tape covering your HUD and your TV on mute. Then tell me it doesn't break the game.

Sorry if it sounds rude, but it ruins the experience for me. If someone shot you with a BB gun, to replicate the feel of live ammunition on shields, would you feel it or hear it?
