Subject: Truth has to be in that phantom/ Giant control room theory

www.cheesemint.com www.unlockedtheseries.com

The Phantom in the trailer has to contain Truth. Its escorted by many Banshees and when the 'structure' starts to blow up and the Phantom peels to the left, two Banshees stick very close to it either side.

Begs the question, where is his ship, the forerunner one? Can't be in the structure cause hes flying to it not from it.

Also i was playing the level 'The Great Journey' about an hour ago, and when the control room opens up, after the index is inserted, it looks simialr to the structure in the trailer.

Any thoughts?

So what you're trying to say is that thing in the Earth is the index and Truth is flying a Banshee?

No not exactly. My title for this thread sucks. i had two thoughts at once.

Truth was in a PHANTOM. who else would be escorted my multiple Banshees, Tartarus and regret and mercy are dead.

SEPERATE THING

I just drew the conclusion that the opening of the structure looked a lot like the control room opeing up at the end of Halo 2.

OH just had a thought, maybe the forerunner ship acts like an index,

parked somewhere it opens the ark?

meh, i'd imagine the capital ship would be more plausible for truth....

Then why is it being escorted??

There is no one important left in the Covenant other than him! Plus you can get a lot closer to something in a Dropship rather than a Capital ship. Plus he left High Charity in one to get to the forerunner ship. Perhaps, the forerunner ship held the phantom while travelling to earth.

Mercy is not dead. MC saved him when he killed the flood parasite that was trying to attach to him. He's going to be in Halo 3 dont worry

He saved him from turning into a Flood form, the less flood the better right? He yelps when the flood is removed and his body is lying around when you start playing again. Truth left him for dead, and if the Chief wasnt sure the flood killed him he would have put that carbine to his head and pull the trigger.

He wouldnt leave a prothet alive.

Actually, Mercy died after Master Cheif pulled the Flood Infection form off of him. Either way, he would die. Master Cheif or by the Infection form itself. And if he did survive, how could he survive for long with High Charity overrun by Flood?

The trailer is taken 3/4 of the way through the game, so he could even be dead, but every ship tries to leave the area when the beam is shown, he wouldnt fly in a low-secured and armored small ship like that.

I think that the forrunner ship is in geostationary orbit over the artifact. That would explain the whole vortex weather as allowing energy to pass into space with out being scatterd all over earth. the forrunner ship could then reflect the energy into a shield to protect earth, leaving earth as the ark.

Everyone keeps saying he wouldn't get in ship like that but he already has!

When he gives the index to Tartarus he is about to board a Phantom. Then the flood attack, Mercy gets attacked.

Master chief then arrives as the phantoms leave! Truth was travelling in a phantom to the Forerunner ship, Cortana even says thats where hes going.

That could be his personal dropship. He then uses it on earth to inspect the structure and has to make a qucik exit, still escorted by banshees, when the structure opens up.

Makes me think, Gravemind wasn't truly refering to the Index when he says the key, he meant the Forunner ship. Look at the inside of the opening thing, 3 long engraved lines, similiar to the Forunner ships...

That was only to transport him to the Forunner ship, the short distance. I am saying, while in a battle zone, he wouldnt be in a cramped transport, rather, he would be a in a large cruiser.

Gravmind ment the index. He didn't want it turned because that would mean he would starve, and it gave him time to us the Chief and Cortana as a distraction so he could get into High Charity.

But he knows more than hes letting on thats for sure....

To burst your bubble: he's dead. On the level High Charity, if you turn around, his corpse is on the ground.

Good point and if it was a Battlezone id go with that. But this is no battle zone. Sure it will be, the Chief has turned up, hungry for revenge, but at the second its an excavation sight, and He probably assumed he'd be safe and wanted a closer look.

Still like i say, its speculation, any of us could be right.

It could be 1 of three people: Arbiter, The white elite guy, or Truth. Im thinking its prolly the arbiter, becuase i dont rememebr brutes piloting banshees. They might, but i dont think they would.

Don't you remember last level of Halo 2? All those Banshees you fight while escorting the scarb, they all have Brutes in!

I dont think it would be the Arbiter or Half Jaw, it would be a hell of a job to get past Truth's fleet and that close to the structure without being detected and then er....blown up.

exactly, its hard to prove or disprove any theories now. Maybe he is in it, and he is taking it directly from the Forunner ship to the Ark..

Makes sense. You would have thought he would have expected it to open but the way they all haul out of there so quick makes me think they have no idea what they're dealing with.

Ok, i admit that part about the brutes (only played the campaign once, have tried to start over but just couldnt bring my self to stand it). But It wouldnt be that hard for them to get there. Rememember, most off world covenant fleets are Grunt and Elite controlled, so basically, the brutes have thier home army, and the Elites have the away army. So, the Elites do have a force to reckon with, plus, the elites are surrounding earth, and it would probably be harder for the Prophets and Brutes to get to earth's surface.

  • 05.14.2006 1:32 PM PDT

www.cheesemint.com www.unlockedtheseries.com

Good point, no way am i putting down the Elite's capabilities. They must have resourses and an army to be reackoned with. Plus they could outsmart the Brutes easy.

Plus the tailer takes part about a 1/3 of the way through the game so thats plenty of time for the Arbiter and Co to get to earth, of course 343 was about to tell them where the ark is and i think we all think its earth/on earth/in earth.

But if it was the Arbiter, he would have Keyes and Johnson with him and would have picked up the Chief via FOF tags and he wouldnt be left on his lonesome,
