One of the Founding Fathers of The Jokers Clan.
All of us who play Halo Reach have been there.
Been in a matchmaking game where there was this really obnoxious trashtalker either ally or opponent, sometimes skilled and sometimes lacking. This person or "troll" (which these individuals will be referred to as from hence forth) we just wanted to get payback on and make them shut up and eat dirt! Often we get our payback during gameplay by winning the current match against the troll and then we forget about it. However sometimes we do not win and it sucks, cause we have to subject ourselves to these troll's taunts and disrespect.
Fear not, there is a way to permanetly get back at these trolls in a very humiliating way that does not violate the code of conduct.
This new phenomenon is on the rise, it doesn't have an official name yet. I coined the phrase - Screenshot Trolling. I have encountered it myself and started practicing it. I now have a few friends whom are now practicing it aswell.
If you encounter a troll and you do or do not win the match, but feel your not even with them and wish to push the envelope and raise the stakes.
This is what you do...
- After the match back out of matchmaking, hit start, go to file browser, then to temporary history, save that match you had with the troll in your local files menu.
NOTE: Must wait a day or two before proceeding. You have to wait to increase the chance that the troll shut his system down and goes offline, if you get them with this trick too early, they'll still have that match in their temporary history and could get you too. Temporary history is lost everytime you shut down.
- Go to theatre in the main menu next time your online, upload the match you had with the troll.
Note: make note of the trolls gamertag excactly how it appears.
- Now once in the match in theatre, begin taking embarrassing and incriminating pics of the troll in gameplay (him getting killed, assassinated, T-baged, betrayed etc.)
Note: This trick works best in rumble pit, living dead, firefight, and campaign playlists. Because the players appear in their true armor color design, making it unmastakable and harder to deny.
- When you take the pics of the troll select "save as", include the troll's gamertag in the file name with a type of insult. Example: Joe Shmo got owned! Joe Shmo got trolled!
- In the description block of the file you've created go ahead and put your insults, insults that do not violate the code of conduct of course.
The Result
What this will do, if the troll's spartan was alive in the picture taken. Is that the pic will appear in his "screenshots of you" under the troll's file browser, where it will have the troll's gamertag in it's file name and contain his spartan. The troll can not deny its him. Even if the troll changes his gamertag the pic will follow him. The pic will be up for everyone to see and constantly serve as a reminder when he should not have messed with you. Inadvertantly you might actually make the troll famous, not in a good way though.
This is the proper way to troll on screenshots cause it shows who the author is, so proudly take ownership in what you do.
Now as a request to the bungie community.
Please stop trolling screenshots by taging it with insults. If your going to insult a person or file put it in the comments block of the file on bungie.net. It shows you have balls, it says "this is what I have to say and yeah, I said it!"
People who insult from the protection of anonymity deserve no respect and credability and neither do their opinions and actions.
