ALL HAIL GABEN

I wanted to get the Bungie action sack, and I wanted to know some tech specs on the games.

I was looking at this super old iBook, and was hoping that it would be enough to play these games.

Specs:
G4 iBook 1.33GHz Processor
768MB of RAM
40GB hard drive

I'm not familiar with the tech specs on the retro Bungie games, but will this iBook be enough to run those games?

I honestly have no idea, I'm sorry. I mean, the games you want to play on it all predate that iBook so I would assume so but before you purchase anything I'd wait for Ken's response. Not trying to make fun of Ken in all honesty... just saying... y'know... it's coming.

I know, i'll wait. Have to wait to get enough money anyways.

Ah....so, do you know what year that iBook is? And what Macs are out there that are pre-1995?

I think that that Amazon page says its 2008? I could be wrong.

Wow, what a lying dick I am. One google search says its from 2003.

Jesus christ, I'm a lying -blam!-. Forgot to check specs. That's, for sure, a 2005 Apple iBook G4.

Ah....i'm not to familiar with Mac products...so i'm not sure of any Macs around or pre-1995. Thanks for checking.

If I can find something around 1995ish, that would be great, because I just want to pay for something that cheap. lol

I think you'll be fine, OP.
If all else fails, Amazon has a nice return policy.

But i'd be buying it from somebody, not through Amazon.

I believe Amazon backs them with their own policy. I'll get confirmation on that; hold up.
Apparently Amazon doesn't "back" you up on refunds, but if the seller has "return policy" on the descriptions, it means that they are usually willing to refund if the product is defective. You could try to contact the seller and explain your situation, see if he'll give your your money back if it isn't compatible. Good luck!

HOLY CRAP!!!!!!! An Emac on Amazon is selling for around $30! I'm sold, LOL.

But an old Apple laptop would be better for me because, I have no room for a desktop (I know it's a fat all in one).

Want to play Bungie games old and new? For Carnage Apply Within

"Don't mistake your rank and number for superiority.
The oldest child may learn from the youngest."

I can run everything on the MAC Actin Sack just fine on my old Power Mac G3 so you should be fine.

Also, accodring to the back of the Action Sack box the specs for the most resource intensive game is...
68040 or faster Macintosh
8-bit(256 Color Monitor)
System 7.0 or later
4 Megabytes of Ram
and a CD drive.

It requires 4 MBs so I think your 768 MBs of ram will suffice. I think your biggest concern is what Operating System you are running. I know the games don't work on OSX, but if you have 7.0 to 9.something you should be fine.

After looking at the Amazon link, the computer you are looking at is probably too new. Like i said, the games won't work on OSX without some kind of emulator, and that crap is more trouble than it's worth. If you want to run them, look for a Mac that runs OS 9. I recommend a Power Macintosh G3.

Now, in the quantum moment before the closure, when all become one. One moment left. One point of space and time.

I know who you are.

You are Destiny.

You're going to buy an ancient, out-dated computer... to play age-old Bungie games? That's $150 (did I mention the $80 pricetag for the Action Sack?) for all of that; that's just silly. You can play the Marathon trilogy on practically any computer nowadays (and it's free, mind you); as for PiD, Minotaur, and Abuse... I'm not so sure.

Must be like how I don't understand why people are willing to buy old baseball cards for hundreds of thousands of dollars ;_;

When I grow up, I want to be just like goofenhour.

How about run every Bungie game (on the computer of course) from the computer you are on now? And yes, that includes Gnop! That's what I did on video. You can emulate a version of Mac OS 9 on your PC/Mac. PM me and I can tell you where to download (legally) all the games, and how to get it working on your PC/Mac. It's a way too lengthy process to explain in a thread.

Nope, sorry still running OSX (OS 10.4), although it says supports OS 9 in classic mode. Still, I'd do a little more research first.

And like acnboy34 pointed out, The Marathon Trilogy is free now. As interesting as Pathways is, I'm not sure its worth $150 plus just for the opportunity to play it, especially if you didn't grow up playing early 90's games. Let's just say Pathways is...very unforgiving. Also, you walk hella slow. An amazing game in its day, but it hasn't aged well.

Abuse was published by Bungie and not made by Bunige, and Minotaur really requires multiple players to get the whole experience, but sadly there isn't currently an easy way to play it online.

Sorry to have bad news for you on this front, but look on the bright side. Someone answered your Myth question over in the Universe forum.

Deathcon_5 on Adelais

Any G4 Mac running 10.4 will play all of those. You also could just emulate.

It is the soldier, not the reporter, who has given us freedom of the press. It is the soldier, not the poet, who has given us freedom of speech. It is the soldier, not the campus organizer, who has given us the freedom to demonstrate. It is the soldier, not the lawyer, who has given us the right to a fair trial. And it is the soldier who salutes the flag, who serves the flag, whose coffin is draped in the flag that allows the protester to burn the flag.Father Dennis Edward O'Brien, USMC

Tough dude. I suggest EBAY. Or hiring a super squad of scuba divers... who are expert's of mac games. Good luck op.

In a time long past, the armies of the dark came again to the lands of men. Their leaders became known as the fallen lords, and their terrible sorcery was without equal in the west.
In 30 years they reduced the civilized nations into carrion and ash. Until the free city of Madrigal alone defined them. An army gathered there, and a desperate battle was joined against the fallen
Heros were born in the fire and bloodshed of the wars which followed and their names and deeds will never be forgotten

You can get The Bungie action sack for $10.00 and every Myth game for another $10.00.

As for running the games, you got to use a lot of emulaters even on PC. I still have to update my copy of Oni for my Laptop.

But you can get every Marathon game free without the box unless you want like the trilogy pack or something (which I only got on sale for $30.00 because it is normally like $400 new or $100 used).

This may do the trick.

Though it may be too old for certain of the games.

Emulation is also an option.

It is not about the good graphics or the more RAM and how video games have evolved. These game are classics and are really good. Myth has aged really well and is still fun to play.

You can say that all you want, but there isn't a single old game good enough to justify downgrading THAT far.

The oldest I've ever gone back was... I can't even remember the name. It was a fun sidescrolling arcade game. It was easily emulated though so I didn't mind.

EDIT: It was Gunstar Heroes.
