Most of them probly died in Africa, but in other parts of the world, they might have hid, like the world leaders, Marine Commanders, and civilians too

Help a brother out. Click on the referral link, sign up for a fun game, log in once for the next couple of days, then you never have to think about it again!

And yes. I understand how pathetic that is, but nobody reads these things anyway... right?

I don't really see why people think that humans and the Covenant are allied because the ships failed to shoot at Master Chief. I think most likely the Cruisers, Phantoms, and banshees might have had more important stuff to do then look closely at the ground to spot a sand colored MC against... sand.

I bet the elites in the banshees and other 'vessels' were to busy looking at the 'dome structure' to be looking closely enough to spot Chief.

Eh?

Or they went, "oh...some stupid thing down on the ground...maybe I should completely abandon my orders to investigate this giant dome thinger to go kill it.....actually...i might get in trouble for that..."

then that would suggest that the Covie Military forces are badly trained since a soldier is trained to be on High alert no matter what and besides one of the banshee flies extremly close to the chief close enough to see him from several meters away.

If the Elites are allied to humans (and they're the ones actually flying the Banshees), then there's a reason they didn't shoot the Chief. If its Brutes flying the Banshees, then they either didn't notice him or they are too excited about the Great Journey to care. Either way, there is no reason to suggest that aliens who just took over Earth could be "badly trained."

That, or those pilots of the banshees in the trailors were brutes. remember that the elites broke away from the covenant due to affairs with the brutes. I believe there is an alliance between the sanghelli and the humans because the elites are aware of what halo actually does.

Well they are badly trained the main forces of the Covenant are Grunts and Jackals and are just pressed into service and learn from experience or from a veteran Grunt or Jackal either way its been said time and time again Covies have been victorious on SPACE Battles were there Tech is much more superior to Human tech on ground its a different story for the covies

Pheh, for one thing this has to be the third or fourth time you've posted this exact same topic, each time you've said pretty much the same thing.
That being said I'll put in my two cents, may have already said on one or your others but im bored.
Alright, first thing, the chief is camoed, judging by his armor color and the color of the ground, and also it is possible since the armor looks a little newer and all that that it has devices in it to cloak it from a banshees sensors unless the pilot actively knew exactly where the chief was, and from the way the banshee is designed, you don't exactly get a window view out of the front, I'm guessing if the sensors didn't pick him up they wouldn't be able to see him at all.
Allrighty, and since some of yous seem so completely determined to ignore what Bungie says, The ships there are just part of a Covenant Excavation team, as explained by Bungie, all more designed for digging than combat, with the Banshee escort in case of attack. Like it or not the chief is just a little tan covered speck on the dirt in no way capable of harming one of their ships unless he managed to get on one, and that would be a suicide mission. I'm guessing the chief is trying to sneak into the structure and stop them from inside.
I highly doubt the chief is allied with those covvies and the elites can't even be considered Covenant any more, so with the announcement that it is a Covenant Controlled earth that rules out the possibility of them being elites. And Truth would rather die than be allied with the "Demon"
Allrighty, and as for the humans, I think casualties on the military level have been catastrophic, but civilian casualties could be comparatively light at this point. They have to have been preparing for this invasion for quite some time, and barring a glassing of the planet the covenant would have a hard time rooting out people that went into underground tunnel networks, if they even really bothered, maybe like in War of The Worlds they were unconcerned about those remaining humans, equating them to the level of maggots, not a threat and certainly not worthy of taking time away from their Great Journey.

In Short, I believe the Covenant are in the process of exterminating the humans, but progress is slow, but it is a Covenant dominated planet because there is no opposition left capable of opposing them.
And heres a bonus theory, maybe the elites helped evacuate the earth before the covenant came into complete control, or maybe another method of evacuation occured during the light covenant first attack. What you can be sure of is that not all humans are dead, that would just be stupid on Bungies part.

If 4 out of 5 people suffer from constipation, does that mean the 5th one enjoys it???

Depending on when in the game this trailer takes place...The Arbiter, Half-Jaw, Miranda, and Johnson could've retook the Covenant cruiser that Half-Jaw went to take while the Arbiter went to the control room. It would also explain why Master Chief doesn't seem all that worried that there happens to be Banshees flying over him and about 50 cruisers surrounding the structure including the one flying close to him.
