Actually, COD takes more skill.

When you consider how quicly you can die. It requires more skill to stay alive and avoid dying. Knowledge of the map, how the enemy moves. That's a skill.

With Halo, you can make mistakes at every turn and still somehow survive the situation.

With CoD, one little mistake and you're dead.

If CoD took no skill. Why then do some teams completely dominate at objectives during most of their matches?

Because they camp out a killstreak and let the killstreak do all the work for them...that's how.

No but really, remember that mock-up dummy that CoD added. It showed red on the body parts you hit the most.

Skill is spending the time to get nothing but the head lit up, and still keeping a positive K/D ratio. (considering most your competition does a pray and spray at your legs and will win against you and your headshots most the time)

I think you're actually retarded. Get checked or something, man.

Halo: Reach is the beginning of a new age for gaming.
It proves that developers can get away with punishing their players instead of fixing their game....and yet the fanboys will still sing praises to them.

-blam!- all of you fanboys!

Ok, so..

CoD you can shoot 3 shots to someones legs to take them down
Guess what?

So can your enemy. It takes him the same amount of effort.

So the comparison you are trying to base skill on is simply because it takes less bullets to kill on CoD.

Get something better.

Because its all relative.

Just the mere fact that it takes LONGER to kill in Halo, Means you can make more mistakes....means the game requires less skill.

Like I said. Your window for making mistakes in CoD is very small. And you pay for those mistakes.

In a sense...CoD requires a faster reflex. Are you saying your ability to "reflex" to any given situation is not a skill?
Cause remember... They can also kill you that quickly.
So how quick can you get your shot on them and make it count before they do it to you?
With Skill.

I'm sorry, but Halo is like FPS with training wheels/RPM limiter, compared to CoD.

Don't be mad just cause you prefer something a little more laid back...I mean so do I.

It's the truth.

it does take more skill then reach.

Stopped reading there.

CoD = Paintball. Way too fast kill times, also, there is no map control involved whatsoever, it is simply pick a gun, spray, get a killstreak, win.

Halo requires control of the map to get good weapons, aswell as actually having to go through and earn the kill, rather than see the enemy before he sees you.

Battlefield = Mixture of the two... and it works.

IF you think CoD does not have the concept of map control taking place within the matches being played.

You are an idiot.

Play it more, and you'll see that map control is pretty much what CoD is all about.

Maybe if you learned to play like a team-member instead of a rambo-chicken with your head cut off. You'd see that.

I do play CoD quite regularly.

Point is, all you need to do is run around like a rambo chicken with his head cut off, and you win. That, or you just camp with a sniper, either way.

It's not some secret that you suck at this game, so you bash it with long-winded posts.

But all BS aside if I've got a guy on my ass and I run through Red Team Spawn on Countdown, drop down to the tunnels then toss a grenade off the wall behind me that I timed perfectly via radar, only to finish him off with a few shots of the DMR ... that is 10x the skill/technique needed to get a kill in comparison to the fools that lay around in corners watching doorways and spraying at the legs of those that walk in, aka CoD at it's finest.

I play both games, and unlike you I'm not the least bit biased. CoD is a joke compared to Halo.

Want another example?

In CoD if you see me first I'm dead.

In Halo if you see me first I'll probably turn and out DMR you long before you've finished me.

Because one game takes skill, and the other is almost entirely luck based.

Yeah because finding a way to move up without needlessy throwing yourskill into a firing range is all about luck.

Hey -blam!- it, just give me a shield and I'll run gung ho through that firing range, bounce a lucky grenade that the game told me I should throw because I saw him on my RADAR.

Your saying that is more skillful.. because you saw a guy behind you on the radar?? And the only reason you lived long enough to throw that grenade is because the game takes so -blam!- long to kill a person..

Get a clue.

The only reason you'd ever turn around and out DMR someone is most likely because you got...oh what? LUCKY! Had better connnection? Yep.

In fact, that's one thing CoD does right, because with kill times that quick. Lag has less influence on the outcome of battles. With longer kill times, Lag has more influence on the outcome of battles. But this is all relative, because that only matters in 1v1. With more people it becomes less of an issue.

Did you learn something today?

LOL CoD has blackbird which is just a radar, you just have to see a certain amount of enemies in a row before they see you.

Also, DMR takes skill to aim and fire, and on halo the best wins, on CoD, aiming may take skill, but the kill times are so quick that skill is negated to who sees who first.

EDIT: Also, lag has more of an effect on CoD. You shoot at someone, they don't have hits register on them, and don't die.

I even had someone die, and stand up again and kill me due to lag.

Also, second chance. Nice little skill related feature there, stay alive when you have been killed.

I just learned that anything skill-related in Halo to a scrub with a toaster for a router (likely) is considered luck or about the connection .... lulz

You're hilarious dude.

CoD is kids laying in corners and other kids running up on them, guns spraying everywhere, and a lot of praying.

And you want to call me laying a nade for some guest to jump on luck? There's no skill involved in watching him move on the radar, watching those around me, and knowing when to throw that grenade so that he lands on it perfectly letting me finish him with a couple of easy shots?

The issue here is you don't know what actual skill is. And as a kid who sucks at this game? I'm not surprised that it's foreign to you.

Definition of skill according to people like you.

My team beat you to the power weapons, beat you to the best spawn camping spots, beat you into submission.

Yet somehow, camping and covering flanks and all that jazz is just luck when it comes to CoD?

In CoD all they did was take out the race for power weapons.

In most cases, camping is the name of the game. Get used to it. Because the team that camps the best...is the best.

Camping is a skill. Learning to deal with campers is also a skill. All around, COD requires MORE SKILL! and faster reflexes.

Imagine it like this.

Halo is like racing a bunch of rice burning honda hatch-backs.
CoD is like F1 racing. It's faster. You have to be quicker.

OR better yet.

You think it's harder to deal with a camper when he can instantly kill you the moment you pop your head around the corner?

Or

Do you think it's harder to deal with a camper when you have a shield that'll let you jump out dance in front of him and still survive long enough to get back behind cover?

Do me a favor and try to look at both sides of the coin. When it comes to campers...and dealing with campers.

Killstreaks, which are obtained by killing enemies, can TEMPORARILY give a team air superiority in cod.

The Banshee, which is obtained by a footrace, can PERMANENTLY give a team air superiority in Halo.

Many people here are just blind fanboys.

On the note of killstreaks...

Killstreaks insure that only the better players get access to such things.

Whereas the footrace allowed anyone regardless of skill level to have a chance at glory.

Hardcore CoD player comparing to default Halo.
Obviously...

There is a fine line drawn when it comes to what is skillful, and hardcore crossed that line.
Hardcore is the true pray-and-spray game if there ever was one.

I wouldn't listen to anyone who'd prefer to play hardcore rules instead of default CoD settings.

You see, with default CoD killtimes, you can at least go for headshots and still come out ahead of all the sprayers.
With hardcore, there is no incentive to go for headshots.

I know a few people who play Hardcore rules on CoD. and they are girls...THAT SUCK AT THE GAME! They aim at the ground/kneecaps. Which is why hardcore is perfect for them.

Are we seriously comparing CoD to Halo?

Nobody I know who's good at CoD is good at Halo. Everybody I know who's good at Halo is also good at CoD.

Halo takes more aiming skill. In CoD you can hold RT for 3 seconds, miss the enemy, and then have 2 bullets out of the other 30 you just wasted hit them in the kneecap to get a kill. I've watched people play and they had the most awful aim, yet they were able to go positive.

People who complain AR rushing/spraying is for noobs are fools. AR spraying in Halo already takes more skill than shooting any gun in CoD.

Halo also takes more teamwork--especially with Reach out now. I don't even need to touch base on this.

Also, why does every single shooter out there have ADS? It's so generic. I love that Halo doesn't have that.
