Yes that is exactly what the Timeless One, A Precursor Gravemind, said.
"Precursors and the Flood. There is no difference."Sounds interesting. So the Gravemind in 2-3 is technically a Precursor? Which means the Precursors aren't completely wiped out?Not exactly. That is up for speculation. We don't know for sure if/how the Gravemind's conscious is moved to every new Gravemind after the previous body was destroyed. The reason being is that it is confirmed that there can be multiple Graveminds at one time.
It may be possible that Gravemind from Halo 2/3 is the TO's conscious, but it definitely is not made out of Precursor biomass. Alright. So now that we have that cleared p I have 2 quick questions. I know Forunners didn't like the humans too much, so why did they make them inheritors of their tech? AND, since were going to a Forunner shield world, I'm also certain we'll see them(IMO). So for question 2, do you think they'll be the enemy, or the Precursors that are thought to have escaped. Sorry for the questions, I'm just a very curious person.
1. The Librarian showed other Forerunners the purpose of the Humans, and after the TO told the Didact the Humans were to be the Inheritors of the mantle, Forerunners began to change their views on Humanity.
2. Most likely. It is implied by 343GS that the Didact won't be too happy with what Humanity is doing right now, so Forerunners may be a temporary enemy. The TO one did say that they would return in 100,000 years to judge humanity as the true inheritors of the Mantle, so they will be a definite enemy.
