Mm, I think the humans were more focused on perfecting Faster than Light travel and space combat. Anyway, the weapons work fine enough.

hmmm, you do have a point. playing GRAW on xbox 360, the technology seems to be far more advanced than that seen in the halo games, yet its only about 5 years in the future from now.... maybe that will change with H3.

The MJOLNIR armor is mostly ripped from Covenant tech, then modified. So that's not really human inginuity.

Of course the giant space stations never caught your eye.... Nor did the Chief himself.

Yes yes I always knew that they weren't as high tech as they should be. I mean, by then we would have come up with some other sort of weapon than a rifle. Something much more powerful, smaller, better accuracy, guided projectiles etc. And even things we can't even imagine now.

The MJOLNIR exo-skeleton I think is about right, even without the shield, it's very advanced.

I mean, the best exo-skeleton that increases strength that we have at the moment is some crappy inflation tube thing, that only increases your strength by 3. John's armour doesn't have any inflatable tubes in it (don't tell me they're on the inside, because they're not).
Also, the MJOLNIR exo-skeleton is supposed to increase your reflexes and interface with your brain. At the moment, we have no idea what's going on up there. There is so many things we don't understand about it, and we would take many many many years until we fully understand, let alone be able to interface with a computer on such complex levels.

I know that at the moment the Japanese have been working on many things with brain-computer interface. And have been able to let a monkey move a robotic table with a banana on it. I guess that it's cool, but MC isn't a monkey, and that's very simple compared to what the MJOLNIR suit can do.

I go by many names, Shinigami, osiris, thanatos, Ares are but a few. But my name is not important for i am god and i am coming for you.

i am a master of my trade with these two hands i create great works. What is it i do?? ... well lets hope for your sake you never find out.

Like guns?? so do we, join Halo Armory and you can too

if you read the instruction manual from the first halo i think it is it says that in this time human weapons has had a relapse in where advanced weapons where scrapped for the ease of manufacture and sheer power they did pack of conventional weapons.

i mean at the minute we do have working railguns, only prototypes but they work :P

Halo 3 (31st), ODST (14th) and Reach (4th) Mythic Conqueror. (Mythic is Solo, Legendary, All skulls on + scoring on and no deaths/saves).

Their trying to give us the feeling that humans are still human even after 500 years. Instead of like in other games where u get laser stuff. It makes u feel like your playing as an alien or something.

How do you know the guns arnt powerful. a pretty basic M16 can do a hell of a lot a damage now, but where only shooting humans. how do we know that the damage the weapons inflict isnt 1000 times more if where only shooting aliens sure we occasionally shoot marines but they probably have some kind of kevlar (stuff bullet proof vests are made of) or something stronger in their armour.

Quae caret ora cruore nostro?
P.S. I love you.

Sorry. But what would you prefer? Lasser guns that could shoot ten thousand shots a second, penetrate six meters of concrette, and be accurate up to fifty colometers?

Hey has anyone seen that gun that can shoot something like 1000000 rounds per minute? Watch the video here:

http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=171818187642200 9808&q=metal+storm

(copy and paste into the address bar up top)

It goes through 600 rounds/m, then 30 000rounds/m, 60 000, then 1 000 000 to give you an idea.

At the moment that is crazy. You saw the weapon jumped after firing at 1 million rounds per minute. Imagine having something that powerful, that you could bring around with you. Only in the future....

Australlian developed ATI metal storm. Uses an electric motionless hammer to ignite projectiles. I might of heard of it. Master Chief should be able to dual wield them in H3.

Though you have to admit all the human weapons in Halo are instantly recognizable and fit well with the gameplay. Actually nearly all the human weapons are based on real life guns in use through out the world’s military. For example Halo’s BR55 Assault Rifle is based on the French GIAT FAMAS/ Halo’s M5AB Assault Rifle is based on a Belgium Fabrique Nationale FN2000/ Halo’s M7 Submachine Gun is based on the German Heckler & Koch MP7/ Halo’s S2AM Sniper Rifle is based in the South African Denel NTW20.

I wouldn't like Halo if all the weapons were all high techish. I don't like it when games have like a pistol that explodes a persons torso in 2 or transforms into a rocket laucher.... I like how Halo's weapons are

Im no lore master or anything, but how often did humanity need to use thier weapons? perhaps there just wasnt a need to develop hands on weapons, because the big space guns sorted out their problems?

we didnt need better weapons before the covies, because we only fought small rebellions, and i imagine the corps put those down pretty quickly.

it shouldn't be too easy cuz with that weapons you mean its way too easy

P.S. I'm dutch so if I write something wrong of something that's the reason

  • 05.12.2006 4:03 AM PDT

One shot: one kill, zero seconds to live

actually most of the UNSC's battleships were recently upgraded with the big guns to fight the Covenant. the small arms weapons should have been updated regardless of the research that went on around slipspace travel and space combat

It's fun and all, shooting that fast, but you'll be running out bullets real fast.
