Could the forerunners(possibly an early looking form of humans) potentially lived on earth and after many years of wind and water burried some of there largest structures such as the 1 shown in the trailer. It seems highly likely if you look at the facts. Such as when the monitor refers to the master cheif as the reclaimer and the arbitor or any other elite was never refered to as the reclaimer. So that means that the master cheif and the human race looked like forerunners. Well thats my theory i dont know if this has already been speculated but i dont wanna read through 300 topics to find out.

Well for any types of life to come back it would take forever so of course everything would be burried deep within the Earth right??

Maybe the Forerunner had an interplantary empire?

Could be true, but then i think that would still make them something other than human, because why would they kill off all other humans?

Thfact that forerunners are humans is esxplained in this site: http://www.halopedia.org/index.php/The_Ark

well thats a very good question. If you noticed in Halo 2, the Brute leader has forced Keyes to activate Halo. Why couldnt he do it himself? Because maybe only the Forerunners could actually activate Halo, and since Humans can activate it, then maybe that means that the Forerunners were Human, or Humanoid, and came from a different settlement on a different planet.

Maybe the Forerunner had an interplantary empire? thats very likely considering how far the rings are apart

"is also believed, though this is purely speculative, that the Ark may have sheltered the Forerunners after Halo's first use, which then evolved into humanity. In the Bible, God floods the Earth to cleanse it of all life, which has grown evil and wicked. However, he saves a group of righteous humans and some animals by telling them to build and seek refuge in a ship, called the Ark. Thus it is a possibility that in Halo, the Ark is a structure or device that shields those using it from the effects of the rings' activation. The humans on Earth might have descended from those who were protected by the Ark during the first activation of the rings. "

I just can't see the Forerunners being exactly humans. Now, if they were human, why would covenant use their technology and humans not? Maybe the forerunners were something along the lines of an elite, and maybe way back in time early humans and early elites battled for earth. Then maybe the humans were slaves to the forerunners(early elites) built whatever it was they wanted on earth, and left, leaving the humans behind.

Although this has been covered many times, a cataclismic event like the activation of the rings would set the forerunner/human's back to caveman technology. I think there's a lot of evidence of human's being forerunner: guilty spark calling humans reclaimers, only humans can use the index to activate the rings as shown when Tarturus must use Mrs. Keyes to activate the second ring, the relic on Earth (possibly the arc). Because all sentient life was destroyed with the ring activation that would mean the forerunner preserved some humans somehow and perhaps hoped they would never find the rings and the flood, or they "evolved" relatively the same as the forerunner. Either way the Covenant found the forerunner technology and incorporated it sooner then we could.

Okay the forrunners are still inside the Ark and yes they are human. Look at the way Guilty spark talks to MC. when Chief first meets him he says "Last time you asked me what would I do"? They were humans or something very, very close.

this is my theory, the covenant wanted to kill humans and capture earth so badly because they knew that's where the ark was located.

OH my christ! We've known that they're human for -blam!- years! And even if they ain't, we knew they were similar to Chief, at least.

Nothing is fact unless found in a piece of Halo canon.

Humans can use their technology. They just dont understand it.

If they were Elites, why did it take so long for them to find Earth? Why would they leave? If they were Elites, the Humans would have gotten some of their technology.
