Subject: Terminal Subtitles

Recently, I took my CEA to a friend's place. We decided to watch the terminals, and after the second one, we turned the subtitles on. As we watched the fifth, I noticed that, as Spark wonders "...how many failure points can the Plan sustain before blind adherence becomes counterproductive?", at the end of the subtitles, there is an unrelated word. "guilty". No capital or full stop. Just "guilty", for no reason.

Could this be important, and might there be other, out-of-place words hidden in the subtitles?

Or have I just made a thread about a random programming glitch?

I know this is there somewhere, and I really hope my memory is correct about where it actually was...

Sometimes lines get taken out for various reasons, but the subtitles are already in, so they appear for a moment or so.

another example is Halo 2, during the Half-Jaw speech at the beginning of the first Arbiter mission the elites chant

"we shall grind them into dust"

But if you look closely the subtitles appear for a split second

"and wipe them as excrement from our boots"

But the line is not said, this is merely because it was cut out for whatever reason but the split second subtitles were still there.

Im gussing that the word guilty flashes up because spark feels guilty for not helping out the crashed ship in Terminal 5.

Yes, I know, but this seemed different, out of place. At the end of a speech a random word with no punctuation.

Join Halo Haven! (Group Leader: A 3 Legged Goat)

(To discuss Halo 4.)

It is probably a glitch, Halo 2 and Reach had some, too.

I am...whimsical today.

Do any others come up for any of the other terminals?

If not, I'd be inclined to think it's a typo in the code.

Do the subtitles appear as:

'Guilty Spark: ...how many failure points can the Plan...'

etc?

No, in the terminal subtitles there is no name in front. It is said in Spark's voice so you can tell, but, as an example, in the third, when Spark talks to the Covenant AI, the camera shows Spark when he talks the the Covenant AI when it does.
Anyway in most of them, there is only once character talking at all, and it is usually Spark. In fact the only one without Spark is the one in "Keyes".

Actually, this is how it is an all the Halo subtitles.
