I did try the double needlers on his ass, kicked him around alot (gotta love sputnik!) but ran out of needles both times. I have never been able to get him out of his chair, not once!

With Famine active, there is never much ammo. I was beginning to think that needlers werent affected by famine as I was always getting a 60 count clip on whatever I picked up, but on regret, other than the ones in the ammo container, the ones laying around are definitely famine'd.

I will be giving it another go later tonight, hopefully with better results!

I swore that I would never do anything difficult in H2 this week, and never do Regret in my entire lifetime, but it looks like it is time for me to emerge from the blackened hole, contribute once again to this endeavor until unknown... So,

Can I use mods to get to Regret faster? :D

Never mind, I chose to go with the dev trainer.

And holy -blam!-, so many Jackal snipers in that room with the 2 Hunters. Also, goddamn, womy was right. That gondola ride may have scarred me forever. Even with cheats, that was a pain in the ass. As there weren't many options on the current gondola I was on, I jumped to the other one and it was much more easier. No Black Eye of course but I had it in mind.

Edit: Rockets? You mean this whole time I could have just used long range rockets on the Grunts?!

Egad, after an hour of testing, I have figured out the easiest way to do the Regret battle on LASO.

The key is to have a safe area. To do that, you need to block 2 paths to the main door with supply cases. Use them in addition to the Forerunner objects. The only problem is, how the -blam!- do I setup the blockade when I have these Grunts with GBD fuel in their -blam!- heads?!

Once someone manages to get past that part, it's quite simple:

1. close the distance before Regret starts firing. Throw grenade at him and immediately board and melee twice and get off. I tried double needlers and rockets but goddamn, they go right through him!!
2. Seek cover, return to the safe area. Sword Elites and most Grunts will often by blocked by the blockade so you'll just have some Grunts and plasma rifle Elites (the shield recharge fodder).
3. Repeat step 1. Careful though, Regret will get tricky and spam his teleporting -blam!-. I swear, he is pure evil!!! D:

One of the nice things about regrets battle is that there are alot of paths to take to avoid fire so I only seek the comfort and safety of the entrance area when there are multiple elites spawned and seeking my hide. If you do not kill the grunts, but just keep moving, the elites spawn much less often.

The issue has been how much frakking damage that prophet has been able to withstand after the last checkpoint. I landed 78 punches on him after the third checkpoint over a period of about 15 minutes and he still wouldnt die (but I caught a plasma in the face, of course). The mythic and thunderstom effect on him are beginning to drive me nuts!

But don't the Grunts and Elites go to the entrance area?

Well here's my testing I did yesterday. I had fun with this thanks to bottomless clip rocket launcher. :P

You're going to have to use the plasma grenade before boarding tactic.

Both the Grunts and Elites do go to the entrance area, but are not that hard to defeat. I do not have assassins running (damn near everything else though) so the noob combo works, and the effect w/GBP is always satisfying!

Boarding Regret's chair is not the issue, I have no trouble getting to him, nor getting on his chair, nor landing blows, the trouble is that the -blam!- just wont die.

I have gotten sixty to seventy eight blows landed on him, AFTER the third checkpoint, which on legendary is the when he is killable (kind of like he heretic leader, you have to listen to his BS for a while and get the checkpoints before you can kill him). He just refuses to die before I do! Stubborn -blam!-.

This is bad, real bad................

Decided to forgoe the final regret battle, 4 hours was enough time to figure out I could not kill him, ever.

Moved on to the next flood levels, did way more skipping than I was happy with....avoiding battle is just not my style. Sacred Icon was a pain in the ass, but I completed it....QZ on the other hand, there is not enough ammo or places to chill out and let your shields get back on 4 halos, let enough this one to make it....I did find a few nifty shortcuts with grenade jumps, but again, not satisfying. When I hit the area with the Wraith, that was it, couldnt get anywhere near the scorpion, or take over the wraith after 2 hours, -blam!- it.

High Charity, the opening battle is a real -blam!- with famine killing the needle quantities and even grunts are damn near invincible with the low level of ammo in brute PRs and PPs..........it is so damn depressing.........no progress........no hope............no ammo..........nothing but the laughter of my enemies as they stand over my shaking corpse mocking my futile efforts...........bad hair day!

I just came back from my H3 work. 2 days working on my H3 AI battle. The only problem is the -blam!- audio of the videos suffer from static noises.

Easy for you to say. With Assassins, it's a pain in the ass.

Imo, the one thing that cripples the boarding moment is how you can't control where you land after you get off.

No one can fight Flood with fire the entire level. Flood are just unpleasant enemies so it's not your fault if you were forced to skip parts. Besides, even Master Chief ran away from Flood (The Maw ending cutscene).

What do you mean by area with Wraith and Scorpion?

High Charity mission start sounds like something I could work on (after I've finished my H3 AI videos). Imo, Gravemind is even worse. It's like the Heretic boss fight but 10x harder.

I think that one of the reasons that the flood levels are so much harder than the covie levels with this combo on are that the flood combat forms are much more aggressive than the covies. The shielded ones are brutal, they are hard to kill and do not stay away, they come at you with that damn whip and smoke you. There are also many more situations where you face multiples of them, rather than the lower amount of covie swarms, and they all want to come and say hello up close and personal. That is where I found myself bypassing them. Those fights are hard enough without any skulls going, adding mythic just makes them really unpleasant to fight (damn near impossible).

The fact that those levels are so damn dark also hurts your ability to work effectively. You cant see far enough, and your motion tracker, though helpful, often does not give enough warning to get the hell out of dodge.

I think that I am going to go back to the beginning of QZ and see if there are not better ways to do this. The fact that I had to skip so much is just not sitting well at all! There must be some better spots to grenade jump to and use the height better. As long as I can keep the enforcer's and sentinels from killing me I may be able to work something better. Wish I had not picked up famine, might have a better chance, but here we go!

I love QZ, an amazing level but I prefer ridding myself of the snow, it's more fun for me on a nice clear day.

Those shielded flood...nasty, all whippy and such and they all charge like crazy. Nothing like peeking around a corner and seeing 6 flood in your face.

I've never beat that level w/ Mythic on without getting the first Scorpion.

between mythic, cowbell and everything else I have going, I was not able to get near the scorpion without dying for 2 hours, I gave up!

Actually, I got to it once, and every -blam!- enemy in that lil battle area opened up on me, I think i got off 2 shots before I was toast. I would actually prefer to get the wraith since it fires faster (although lacks the machine gun)but I havent been able to even melee myself to the note to grenade the driver before I get wasted. The battle after that, you have to have a vehicle, you will not survive on foot, not that I can get past all that -blam!- to get there anyway. Gotta figure this one out!

Anyone got a video of this part? I haven't played QZ that much so I don't know what the heck you guys are talking about. I'd check myself but I've got H3 work keeping me occupied atm.

As any smart (and alive) soldier would tell you, stay back and let them fight it out first (you don't have on Assassins right?), then go out and kill the Sentinels with the Ghost or 2 pals in the Spectre. By this time the Scorpion should be sitting driver-less and only 1 Enforcer left (maybe 2). Leap off the edge and grab the Scorp and get the drop on the Hog coming through the door.

The other way, once you are ready for the Hog door, is just fly past the Hog right after the CP, then go back and get the Scorpion.

@ SG - It's the second map. First map is outdoor, second map is inside, third map is the next outdoor area.

Ok thanks. I'll give it a go later. I have a strong suspicion using Ghost bolts will contribute.
