Ok, for all of you flamers who may disagree with me on my prediction, don't go all psycho on me. Just don't post. But if you would like to discuss my prediction further with me please feel free to provide your input.

Here it is: I believe that Master Chief will die in Halo 3. I do not believe that he will be killed, I believe that he will sacrifice himself to save Earth. When Mendez talked with John (MC) about leading his troops he told him that he would have to send his men into battle knowing that he may be sending them to their deaths, but it was for the greater good. Having no choice, and running out of time I believe that the Master Chief will make a decision to die for Earth. ** On the side I also believe that Dr. Halsey will make a return as well as the other Spartans that are alive due to the fact that the Halo 3 game will "Supposedly" be the final game in the Series which should tie up loose ends. I also believe that the Halo movie as well as the book(s) will make the situation with Cortana more clear. Please feel free to share your input on my prediction.

*Applauds* Finaly, someone else that thinks MC will die in some way. Sacraficed to save earth and dieing fighting the covenant are the same in a way.

#2 Supporter Halocharts, #11 other account.
"Ordinary love is selfish, deeply rooted in desires and satisfactions. Divine love is without condition, without boundary, without change."
You are all loved beyond measure.
I, like you, am a light-sound-vibration complex that resonates with others. I have hopes and dreams and ambitions, just like you! I AM, and so are you! Yes, we are one and the same, you and I.

I would be most disappointed if the MC doesn't die. Perhaps they are alluding to this fate by hinting at the darker themes of Halo 3.

Thanks, thanks very much. I also believe that the Master Chief will sacrifice himself for the good of the universe. It is a MUCH better ending than the typical 'good guy wins' thing. I hope it is something epic.

Chiefee may die, but i don't think he will die because he sacrificed himself. He will probably sustain massive damage to his body from the final battle and die soon afterward. he wont sacrifice himself because he wasn't ordered to do it. i mean, c'mon, he's the chief. the only way he dies is if he knows for a fact that the enemy is completely wiped out. and that may be a long long time. because where ever there is good, there is evil. there is always an omega to an alpha. when ever it is day, there is night. things like that.

i dont think they would go that far. After this one, they may make games about how u finish off the other Halos and the flood.

Yes, I wholeheartedly agree. Sacrifice is the most noble and beautiful of human gestures. If MC sacrifices himself to save the human race, then I will feel complete closure. It's the only worthy ending to such an impressive achievement in videogames. Sacrifice... yes. Perfect.

actually i know i know, they have stated already that this is the final game in the story arc. Bungie will definitely make other games like they have before (Marathon: infinity woot) but when they mean final in the arc, they mean final in the arc. that means that it ends with the third.

Dude, remember, you can take care of all the halos by using the Ark. And why would he want to destroy all of the halos, that's the only way to stop the Flood. The halos are a good thing, but the Covenant went fanatical and is misinterpreting it all, like the Gravemind something like: "Do not misunderstand what they (Forerunners) left, they knew what they wrought"

Even though this could happen, I just dont think it would. It is a good speculation, but it is a little cliche for the main character to be noble and brave and sacrifice himself for the good of mankind. Also, if the other spartans do return, why would MC be the one to sacrafice himself, why not go with one of the others? Im not trying to flame you, I just dont think he will die.

I actually disagree, I don't think they'll make any other Halo related games, maybe Halo LIKE games with a few people from the game, but I think this is it and the Chief dying seems reasonable...not good, reasonable

Ok, well let me demonstrate with an example of what could happen if the other spartans do show up. Master Chief always put himself into danger first, he wanted the others to get out. As their leader, he has to set an example for the others to follow. Take an example, the movie Armageddon, there were a lot of astronauts there, but the "leader" took over got the others out and detonated the asteroid himself. He gave his life so others could live, which I believe is a wonderful way to close out the story. It will not leave anything unanswered.

Yes, I suppose it's fairly cliche. But think about it: what movies are the most memorable to you?

Braveheart? The Matrix Revolutions? Star Wars: Return of the Jedi? The Last Samurai? Terminator 2?

All of these films utilized sacrifice as a plot element to help end the story.
Sacrifice may be older than the Bible as a plot tool, but its emotional impact is undeniable.

If Bungie does it right, MC's sacrifice could be the perfect way to end the Halo trilogy.

Great Theory...but u guys got to think a bit. There not going to make a Halo Movie on a game...it would have to continue on of something. So if MC Dies...then where is the Halo Movie going????? (Not dissing the theory just giving some feedback)

I thought the Halo movie was based on the first Halo novel, "The Fall of Reach".

Exactly. Sacrifice is the greatest gift in the world. If Halo is related to the Bible (which in some ways I believe it is) then look at what Jesus did to forgive us of our sins. He gave his life, so we could have everlasting life.

actually, im pretty sure its going with the game combat evolved. who knows, if it does well like other movies e.g. spider man, 007, mission impossible, there may be the option that they will go on and make the final 2. that is, if the halo movie will be CE AND halo 2. that would be sick.

I also think that the MC will end up dying., buti also agree that it would be kind of cliche. sure, movies that sacrafice the hero are memorable, but i thought it was cliche in those too.
