Bungie reminds me of India. Microsoft is like the Big Evil English and Bungie was able to gain their "independence". But, their were those who thought things should go this way and that, 343i is born. 343i who's kinda like Pakistan, after some rifts they got their people and the game. Do you think 343i is going take Halo a place where Bungie couldn't?

What? Like a Kinnect only Halo shooter?

As for Bungie's "independence" you do know who's currently paying their bills right?

Vengeance only leads to an ongoing cycle of hatred.

If 343i achieves a deep, great story/campaign and a fun, innovative multiplayer that sticks to the core elements of Halo...Then, yes, I think they can do it. But, I can't say now. We know little to nothing about the game.

By the power of truth, I, while living, have conquered the universe.

That's a rather strained simile... But they already have, the Forerunner Trilogy has pushed Halo about as close to hard sci-fi as it's going to get. Hopefully the games will bring about the same kind of effect, because Bungie REALLY dumbed down the deeper aspects of their games and concentrated on a relatively simple structure. ODST was their first direct foray into bringing about the deeper aspects of Halo's story, the others were relatively simplistic.

I understand nothing because my life is a conspiracy.

The Covenant were a core element of Halo.

UNSC + Covenant + Forerunner = Halo
UNSC + ? + (Forerunner^2) = ?

I was talking more gameplay wise. Like the golden triangle: weapons, grenades, melee. The introduction of AAs destroyed the golden triangle and were overall a terrible thing. It just gave everybody a crutch and made the multiplayer experience very much catered to casual players. But, that's veering off topic and I really don't want to start a pointless heated debate about this kind of stuff.

The Covenant not being in Halo 4 won't be that big of an impact, imo. I don't think having the Covenant is crucial for 343 to take Halo to a place where Bungie couldn't. In fact, letting go of the Covenant just may be crucial to take Halo to a place where Bungie couldn't because you can only do so much with the Covenant. After Halo 3, the Covenant was in shambles and there's only bits and pieces of it scattered around. You can't do much with that. Replacing the Covenant with a new, better enemy like the Precursors or the Forerunners or even making the Flood more prominent and making the Flood really reach their potential as one of the best enemies in gaming history. (That's a whole other story, but I do believe the Flood have a huge amount of potential as one of the best major enemy in a game)

Point to SEAL Sniper 9. This should be interesting... ah, but dammit, it's too long of a wait. Then there's also the Hobbit movie coming out, which ALSO looks fantastic, and it comes out in December as well. Sad face :(
