I'm concerned that cheating will be just as prevolent in the new halo as it was in the last. I hate cheaters and I think it is pathetic how many cheaters I see in online play on Halo 2 every time I play, it is as if there was no progress made when the supposed security update was made. Halo 3 better be cheat proof so that those no life cheaters have to earn their rankings and earn their victories like everyone else, which they probably won't be able to since every cheater I've ever faced in true fair battle has been horrible.

How about this buddy, read the updates. Just a few days ago they said they got better tools to detect network manipulation (standbying, forcing host) and boosting. Also theres less and less modding everyday I think. Besides when Halo 3 is first out for a while there wont be any modding and hopfully they will have even better ways to detect bridging. (I wonder if they will have dedicated servers.)

Yes they are doing much to improve on their detection of cheaters. However, don't expect NO cheating at all. I'm sure there will be some whenever someone finds a way to exploit the game.

Well of course theres always cheating, but theres ways to detect it quicker and ban them right away. Like if your modding you get 6 or some hours before your disconnected and banned. So hopefully they will have good ways of detecting that stuff and have people banned instantly.

Of course. I was just stating for him not to be surprised if there are moments in which he is cheated. With the progress they are making in detecting cheating, they will be able to ban cheaters a lot more quickly and efficiently than now.

yea.
and theres always going to be cheaters, because cheating doesn't just have to do with cheating the system.
Like today there were 2 people in team snipers that decided they were going to come up to our team and tell us where their players were.
We listened at first then thought better of it and killed them every time they approached, and then of course, after, we reported them for cheating.

No game at all is 'cheat proof', you cant make a game cheat proof, it would be like trying to stop people dying. All they can do is just make it as hard as they can, nearly impossible to cheat, then there will only be a few, if any at all.

I think there will be a considerable amount less on halo 3 also because the cheaters favorite '2 month free trials' are now gone, forever! It is sad that they don't exsist anymore, because of cheaters, having to spoil it for everyone else.

I don't even consider that "real" cheating. Just some bad Halo players making a bad situation worse for their team.
