When I grow up, I want to be just like goofenhour.

http://blog.marcuslehto.com/

Now I can sleep soundly at night. The master mind behind all things Halo is now back at Bungie working on the new project. One of the most Grizzled amongst the Ancients, he was one of the few to work and create Halo from day one of the project back in 1997. And now he is back to doing it again on the new IP.

All I have to say is I'm glad he is back.

Can't wait to see what he does with this project.

Sealing the deal with Salvatori and Halcylon, bringing on DeeJ, and now Lehto? This game better be amazing.

Very cool!

Now, in the quantum moment before the closure, when all become one. One moment left. One point of space and time.

I know who you are.

You are Destiny.

Cool man!

So, he's working on a separate IP within Bungie, or on the new IP? I'm a bit lost.

New Flood

I'm totally opposed to this.

  • 01.22.2012 10:13 AM PDT

That's really cool. If I understood that correctly, Lehto is actually working on something entirely different than Destiny with a small internal team. That means we have lots of Bungie goodness to look forward to!

I doubt they'd work on anything but Destiny at this point in time. He's probably working on the new IP.

Edit: Oh, thanks cranium. I'm dum'd.

Yay, I was kind of disappointed to see him leave.

I have seen you future

Hell Yeah!

The only question now is: What team will he compete on in the pentathlon?

He's not working on Destiny. Read the article again, he's working on a separate IP.

I've always liked this guy, I didn't even know that he had left. But its good that he is still working at Bungie.

The Joyeuse IP Formula

It's good to know that he was welcomed back to start something new. It looks like Bungie has a lot more planned than just one game at a time. I can only hope that they, just like how Marcus had, can figure out how to maintain a good balance and not take on a bigger load than they can possibly handle.

"I will show you how a true Prussian officer fights!"

"And i will show you where the iron crosses grow..."

Good to hear!

Trying something once will increace your chances of success, because you tried it. Try someting twice, and your chances increase yet again - seeing as you've done it. Try something a few thousand times, and your chances of success is exponentially increased; this increase would likely provide success every time

The pentathlon gets postponed and Marcus is back? I smell an awesome conspiracy. Nonetheless, I'm glad he enjoyed his little hiatus with his family - he deserved it.

Halo without Bungie is like a cookie made without love.

I was afraid he would turn his back on Bungie and went to 343.

  • 01.22.2012 10:30 AM PDT

In a time long past, the armies of the dark came again to the lands of men. Their leaders became known as the fallen lords, and their terrible sorcery was without equal in the west.
In 30 years they reduced the civilized nations into carrion and ash. Until the free city of Madrigal alone defined them. An army gathered there, and a desperate battle was joined against the fallen
Heros were born in the fire and bloodshed of the wars which followed and their names and deeds will never be forgotten

Awesome.

I think this next project they are working on is the biggest they have ever made. Bungie seems to be hiring a lot of their contractors full time, getting more community managers, Michael Salvatori, etc.

Awesome! It's great to know that he's passionate about his next project, that's how all the greatest games are made.

I always enjoyed watching his interviews on Bungie ViDoc's. Good to hear that he's back on the team.

Sweet! Two games! I'm glad he enjoyed his time away, and hopefully the man doesn't get back into a crazy work schedule.

It would be interesting if Shiksha came back (I think he is as 343i now?). It seems a lot of older Bungie employees are joining back up.
