Subject: WHY don't we know Jun's fate?

Now bear with me... I notice that the question of "what happened to Jun" has been asked a thousand times, and the consensus to me seems like basically we can only speculate.

Now I'm more along the thoughts of WHY we don't know. Leaving one single member of Noble Team alive is a little suspect, and we see this in everyone's undying curiosity.

My thought is that Bungie would not just leave this fairly huge loose end without some acceptable reason.

At this point, even I don't have a hugely developed theory on this. My only idea is that Bungie wanted to push the concept of spartans and being MIA, as we all have this lack of closure that created so much controversy, which is never bad if your goal is attention.

In the more optimistic posters here you can see that little glimmer of hope behind each post that speculates he's alive, and that's a fairly rare phenomena throughout the universe that puts us in the same shoes as another party (mainly people who would lose moral should they know these super soldiers died).

This emotional connection is subtle and overt, and in a lot of cases completely non existent for those who just don't immersed themselves in the universe.

What do you think? WHY don't we know Jun's fate?

Vengeance only leads to an ongoing cycle of hatred.

Bungie confirmed he's dead. 343i is not planning on using him.

All Bungie said was that he doesn't survive the events of the game, not the Battle of Reach itself. Then there is the fact Jun doesn't appear anywhere else.

Don't waste your time trying to explain it to them. They're in some magic world where what they want always comes true.

Whether he died or not in the extended universe or an outside comment was not the point of my post.

I meant more within Halo: Reach why is there this loose end.

With the millions of people who played this game, there is going to be an overwhelming majority who don't hear about Bungie's comment on Jun.

They're accommodating the hardcore crowd who care by telling us outside of the game that he dies, so if you care enough you CAN find your answer.

But for those who aren't quite that motivated to have every question answered, why didn't Bungie provide the answer in the game. Why did it become this mystery?

Not sure, but it bugs me. However it bugs me even more that 343 refuses to do anything about it.

I think Bungie didn't show it in the game is so people can think of a story for him, themselves.

I've said this before and I'll say it again. He dropped Halsey off and found a prowler with slip space capabilities. Now he is sitting on a remote colony's beach with some freshly squeezed pineapple Juice.

-Dead Orbit..

maybe to give people hope that John isn't the only spartan left.

there's: Fred,Kelly,linda,tom,lucy,gray team,red team, and Jun.

  • 01.22.2012 6:48 PM PDT

Oh come on people, isn't it obvious?

He's a sniper/recon spartan who accompanied halsey on the pelican and we never heard anything about him after that.

There's no reason it wouldn't be revealed in another halo game.
Halo 4, perhaps, might shed some light. He might be on that Sigma planet that master chief is set to land on. If chief meets halsey, chances are, he might meet Jun as well.

Either that, or Bungie will let us speculate what happens to him. Who knows, there might be a halo sequel to Halo: Reach where the main player gets to play as Jun and has to survive with halsey and other survivors or something.

Theres no telling what could be in store.
