Subject: halo script writers should be sacked!

I'm one of those storm chasers that will never have a TV show because I don't scream at clouds.

Simple, they found a way too save us. And by the way it knocks out all sentient life. Key word is sentient. Now then we have the Ark. The term generally refers to a safe area. Ever thought that humanity could have been kept on this Ark? How about the Covenant as well? Yeah it is possible that they were since they do have this nifty Forerunner ship.

Actually, Guilty Spark reveals that he has been alone on Halo since before humans even evolved, meaning the Forerunners wouldn't have needed to save us or the Covenant, since it is doubful they were around back then either.

Evolved? I won't even go there.

For starters the blast happened 100,000 years ago. Also so people know the blast radius of Installation 04 at least, is 25,000 light years.

And you don't know if the Covenant species and humanity was not around during the Forerunner times. There is plenty of evidence suggesting otherwise.

This is Science Fiction, meaning the discussion of Evolution isn't necessary, it can be in the story if they want it to or not. It is my personal belief that the Humans and Covenant evolved after the destruction of all sentient life by the Halos. If you have some logic to change my opinion, do tell, but simple "No, I'm right" won't sway my opinion. I provided the fact behind my suggestion, so by all means, please do the same.

Then theres that theory that the foreruners kept a few flood alive to study them. whats the point in that if the foreruners were going to blow themselves to next universe? why the hell would the foreruners breach containment and keep their enemy alive but kill themselves? sound dumb? YES IT DOES!!

Becuase they couldn't kill the flood. It was probably still out there, on planets like Threshold. They needed to lock some samples up so that future races could study them to try to find a better way to stop them.

Okay here is what really happened (I think). The rings wiped out all of the sentient life that can sustain the flood. A single celled organism would not be sufficient to sustain the flood. Evolution, hello? The flood cannot be wiped out so simply, so they were contained on the halo rings. They survived by hibernating. Damn, an eigth grader can think of this stuff!

The number of theories and the amount of time it would take me to do that would be pointless over a simple internet debate. In short read pretty much everything here and you might be swayed otherwise. Don't just read the stupid front poem bull-blam!-, actually go through the links. Heck search for why it doesn't work on your own time.

I've got a war to worry about kid and not enough time to prove you wrong like I so would love to.

Evolution happens over millions of years. The Halos were fired only 100,000 years ago.

humans in sentient form haven't even existed for 100,000 years, so the firing of the rings wouldn't have had an effect on the evolution of our species.

343 Gulty Spark, Library, Installation 04: Why naturally the Flood is simply too dangerous to release, and mass sterilization protocols may again need to be enacted. Of course, samples were kept here after the last catastrophic outbreak...for study. It seems... that decision may have been an error.

The forerunners had a plan.

To kill all life in a certain vacinity of the halos.

It was designed to kill everything.

Apparently it didn't.

And it isn't even remotely possible that certain Forerunners, knowing that death was upon them should they stay, would leave and try to get outside of the radius before the halos detinated?

All in all you guys are thinking too far into this. It is a game.

In halo 1 it was clearly stated that halo is a weapon that kills sentient life within a given radius to stop the flood from feeding, so that eventualy they would starve to death. Then 343 GS comfirmed that the Halo's were fired once before so technicaly their should be no life in the milky way (our galaxy) but some dumb ass decided their are humans and covenant alive in a galaxy were all life should of ciesed to exist. Then they decided that flood did not starve to death and they 'were sleeping' YEA RIGHT! like you could survive thousands of years with out food.

Do u know what nature is??

Who's to say that the flood cant survive for at least a few thousand years? Scientists have found bacteria encased in rocks that had survived for 250 million years without food. They survived by forming an endospore (like a shell) which protects them from the elements, while the bacteria ceases metabolic activity. When they uncovered the ancient bacteria and exposed it to more favorable conditions, the bacteria awakened from this waiting state and began multiplying, after 250 million years. I just learned about this within the past month and I'm looking at the biology book right now ;) . So I bet that a species like the flood that would rely on a host to survive would have developed some way to stay alive in a barren environment.

or perhaps even being frozen for study by the forerunners before the rings activated.

did you read the first post? NO! how can the foreruners study the flood if the killed themselves?

First of all, he clearly said: "for study by the forerunners BEFORE the rings activated." The Forerunners didn't know they where going to have to activate the rings until AFTER they studied the Flood.
Second of all, the monitors on the Halo rings study them now, DUH! That was 343 Guilty Spark's job, to keep the Flood contained and study their hibernation patterns. Just because your civilization is going to be wiped out doesn't mean you can't leave something behind for future civilizations to learn from.

From now on, read the post carefully before blowing a gasket at it for no reason...

You sir are an idiot. why would the foreruners make the biggest decision in the universe to destroy all life but they forget to unplug the flood they have on support machines. sound dumb? YES IT DOES!!

So who's to say how much time the Flood have before they starve to death? Maybe their life span is extremely long, like a virus or bacteria tha can remain dormant for centuries. In that time, it may have been possible, if all life was wiped clean off, for new life to evolve. Or maybe one of the hidden effects of the Halo weapon is that it not only kills a whole lot of organisms, but it also "seeds" the galaxy with the genetic info needed to restart life. Ever wonder why that one level in Halo:CE is called "The Library" or what exactly are the contents of the index? The biggest clue is in Bunige's own header for the Library Forum. Look at it again.

people do not get it. it must of taken centuries to complete all them halo's by then surley the foreruners would have learnt that the floods life span is long but yet they fire the halo rings? all of this is the fault of the writers.
