I think they're going to announce it with a scavenger hunt presented to the community. To find things in old posts, recall trivia about BNet to solve puzzles, etc.

I just saw a green monkey nut shot a small tan lizard(?) in a gunny sack.

Some vague, boring teaser trailer at some upcoming video game expo this year.

I assume an ARG will lead into a reveal at E3.

Tin shacks and catfish bones.

They will break wind and not be able to cover it up.

Wait, I have a better idea. They release a ViDoc with a documentary type thing from when they started planning the project back in '08(ish) and it goes up to when they release it.

Break the silence? That much is obvious. Marty will tear a hole in his office wall with a rumbling fart.

They should break the silence with a strip-tease video of Urk and DeeJ. And then right as they're taking off their tighty-whities, it cuts to a trailer of the new IP.

I always vote for the "bang" option.

Sadly, I do not always get what I want.

How will they break the silence, you say, my dear chap? By simply cutting the cheese that infill the studio with a stench odor of disguisting nightmare.

2/15/12: Francisco Porras, I'll miss you. Rest in Peace.

I think they'll give us small hints in the blog posts, then one day we'll come on and be stunned by a trailer on the front page. We will get luterally nothing from it, but it will be awesome.

I want Bungie to break my door down and give me a round house kick of information to my face.

So I guess a bang.

Probably only with a few words and a teaser video.

And then more silence.

However they break it, it's going to be loud.

Really loud.

SPOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOON!

Old Bungie would have posted a front page article, then debuted the "meat" at some trade show. Usually a teaser. An ARG would come a bit later. Lots of stuff going on over at bungie.org and other fan sites, and some press stuff.

Current Bungie...is another story. They don't seem to do things the same way. That makes sense as companies evolve, and since this is an all new IP, no one really knows what to expect.

I'd imagine it will start with a bang. Probably a teaser trailer that came from no where. Then a front page blip, which hints at a few things, but doesn't really give us any pertinent info. The "wet their appetites" phase if you will. I'd imagine the big stuff will come from trade shows, because you have to build hype well prior to the game release. Fansites will really go into overdrive with speculation and content as its slowly released.

I hope the ARG is something else this time around. Perhaps I'm just used to them now, but no ARG "hooked" me like ilovebees.com did. I hope Bungie and/or whomever they contract to make the ARG really breaks some new ground here. I think for the new IP, the ARG will have to be outside of the box in an all new way. Some cryptic info here and a clue there just won't do it IMO.

I guess I pretty much posted Bungie's old order of operations. Oh well, you stick with what you know. I guess we'll all see at some point what Bungie has in store for us.
