I never learned to read.

No matter what you do in life, you will disappoint someone.
No matter what you say, you will offend someone.
No matter what you think, someone will think you're an idiot.

Find and eliminate these people.

I think that the basics for the storyline are all laid out in the Halo bible, but there are elements that are improvised throughout the games. Certain things I doubt would be in the Halo bible, like areas of lesser story importance that simply lead to bigger events. Although I could be completely and totally wrong, I have a habit of doing that.

What the hell are you looking at?

Anyone else want to try and be cute and mess with people?

lmao!

Sounds like the punchline to a 'old priest, young priest' joke to me!

We didn't name it the Halo Bible, Bungie did.

And yes, it does exist.

How do you know?

Faith in Bungie? That's optimistic...

I know because I watched the Bonus DVD that came with the Collector's Edition of Halo 2 in which Joseph Staten mentions the Halo Bible as the location of the plotline.
I should probably get around to watching that bonus DVD.....I forgot about it.

And yes, I think the Halo Bible exists (or Halo Doctrine, or whatever you want to call it...). But there has got to be a set of guidelines so that the other works (movie/novels) don't go too far off track from the original concept.

As you may know, reading the Halo Bible is a privilege reserved for an extreme few who have an explicit and authorized “need to know”. The

The plots for the four stories in the novel came from Bungie's "Halo Story Bible," which details the underpinnings for the game universe:

Halo 3: Collapse
Chapter 20, Revelations, is up (update 11-14-10)
The Mirratord

Ω

I think it may not exist because of inconsistencies between the games.

EX: Johnson dies in Halo: CE (gets blown up by the Pillar of Autumn on legendary mode), but he's alive and well in Halo 2

EX: In the first Halo, the covenant believes Halo is a weapon, in the second Halo, they believe in the great journey

I'm one of those storm chasers that will never have a TV show because I don't scream at clouds.

The bible probably isn't too specific about the Marines and Covenant views of Halo. Also, they may just explain the "Covenant believe Halo is a Weapon" as a mis-translation.

That ending has always been a joke.

In the first Halo, the covenant believes Halo is a weapon, in the second Halo, they believe in the great journey

Cortana says

One moment Sir. Accessing Covenant battlenet. (Pause) According to the data in their networks, the ring has some kind of deep religious significance. If I'm analyzing this correctly... they believe that Halo is some kind of weapon. One with vast, unimaginable power.

She was right about the ring being significant to the covenant religion, but she was wrong about it being a weapon. It wasn't until First Strike that she developed a really good way to interpret the covenant language.

Then there was Keyes saying that the guards repeated "Whoever controls Halo controls the fate of the Universe."

It was never said anywhere in any of the stories '(book or game) that the Covenant believe halo is a weapon. Cortana thought they thought it was a weapon, but never knew... An given the time it took her to figure out exactly what Halo did, there should be a pretty good chance the Covenant would've found out too, if they didn't already believe it to be one giant ring of salvation...
